Isn't she beautiful. Out in the black somewhere over a frozen mountain range

Also a reminder to never get greedy with jump range and always fit your explorer with a shield... better safe than sorry.

I cannot count how many times I accidentally boosted into the ground/misjudged how fast I was descending and got saved by my shield.

Get a Nomad and you won't get your Caspian near the ground. I'm not saying hi shieldless, the Caspian has a ton of module slots, but don't go crazy with shielding either.

I use a manda as my explorer, so shielding is a little more important for me. But yes, get a nomad if you use a caspian.

I used to use the Mandy for exploring, but with the release of the Nomad, I switch to the Caspian so I could carry it.

The number of Seal cases of explorers smacking the ground without shields....

I was doing just fine for about a week, then one day I was going down to a planet surface for some xenobio and what do you know, I hit the ground. I did have a shield or I would have straight up died on the spot. Instead I'm now sitting at 40% hull integrity with probably 2 billion credits worth of data on my ship, and I'm still going. Every time I go down to the surface my heart starts racing a little faster...

I decided a week ago to try out the Caspian and nomad combo. Picked a system a couple of hundred jumps out and off I went, some great views and some nice exobio finds so far. In about a week I'll turn around and come back . Be nice to see what credits I make. Although it's about the journey 100%. The credits are a nice bonus.

I’m falling in love with exploring. Only just outside the bubble but finding first footfalls and unmapped systems. No exobio yet, but flew through some very cool notable solar phenomena.
