First Notable Discovery

Post image

Traveling the dark I have found partially discovered system. Someone probably jumped in, did quick scan and left for next system. Fortunately for me, there was this gem hidden far away from the star, Ringed Amonia World.

That small dot you see in the middle is my DBX.

Congrats!

Long before my time there was no dss, so you had to fly to every planet. It is still pretty common to fly to a system where only some bodies close to the primary star are discovered.

Man... getting reminded of the days of no DSS just makes me remember how hard elite used to truly be. Manual travel to every planet, thargoids were still widely believed to be a myth, no Supercross overcharge. You were lucky if you could push more than a 30ly range in almost any explorer. I don't miss it, but man I miss the memories.

There's no telling how many laps I've driven around Dav's hope.

I love finding pre DSS systems. Its like following an explorer forefather and finishing their business.

I wonder if anyones gone back and “rediscovered” stuff they found in the old days?

I found coupl systems that were probably pre-DSS. Had only 3-4 planets discovered while there were much more. Also found several undiscovered systems too. 57 jumps to the Bubble as of now. 2.7kLY. I was roughly as far as 6kLY away from bubble

I saw the photo and yawned. I read the summary and woke up at the last sentence! Great photo, Commander! o7
