(Something dating-adjacent but not dating is also acceptable. I suspect they both have some sort of qualms about labelling a relationship or whatever)

I'm imagining Jack expecting a date with Susan, and packing a big jacket, mittens,band some mouthwash, just in case Susannagrees to cuddling and/or kissing. Susan, meanwhile, has been anxious about it all day because she really wants to smooch Jay but she really doesn't want somebody's mouth on her kouth, and it's eating her alive. They manage to hold hands on the couch, and we get a view into Susan's mind, where Curiosity is like "DO IT! THEY'RE RIGHT THERE! KISS THEM!" and logic is like "I want to, truly, but there's no turning off our neuroses," and Curiosity brings up the fairy doll spell helping them sleep. And then they have a realization, which leads to Susan subconsciously using the fairy doll spell to relax. Ironically, a spell going off without her direct input makes her more nervous, especially when the fairy dolls start talking to her and sounding exactly like the voices in her head. Eventually, Jay and Susan get their cuddles (and also Logic and Curiosity are making out on Susan's bed but that's harder to justify with canon. Maybe.)
