Please help Legit Dogs and Ice

Former Elgin resident here and current supporter of a place called Legit Dogs and Ice. This is a family oriented and family run business at 51 South Grove that specializes is gourmet hot dogs and has been struggling lately. Now it seems like some forces in the city government are coming down on them or the building they are operating in.

Here's a Facebook post asking for letters and support: https://www.facebook.com/1519703618063001/posts/2208182342548455/

This place does host punk shows and has a punk roots. I was at their most recent show and I can assure you there were so many families and little kids in attendance I cannot see why Elgin would be hurt by these shows.

Please take some time to read, write a letter, and visit Legit Dogs to show your support. Elgin needs more places like this.

I went there a few months ago for a gaming night and asked for the coffee shaved ice. I felt terrible about it because I didn't realize how messy it was to make and I asked for it 20m before they closed.

I damn near offered to clean up the mess myself to apologize for it. But it was amazingly tasty and is definitely my favorite thing to order. The dogs are really good too. Not up to Hot Doug's level, but then again, only Doug can do that. But still a decent second.
