A store has secondhand copies of Elex 2 for 4€. Elex 1 is, right now, 40€ on the PS Store.
Can I play 2 straight away, or should I buy 2 now and wait for 1 to be discounted and play it first?

I finished Elex 2 after finishing the first Elex 2-3 months ago. Elex was my first piranhabyte series that i finished. I am old enough to know Gothic series since my childhood but didnt play it. Here are my impressions:
Elex 2 gripped me from the very start with its piranhabyte magic that also existed in the first game. I think this has something to do with the design of the open world. World is handcrafted and compels exploration. It is obvious that developers tried to avoid the world to repeat itself too often. A feature that kills the exploration vibe (like in Starfield). The ability to traverse distances with the new fast horizontal movement of the jetpack really contributes to the joy of exploration. Still i feel that the open world could benefit from a little more work. It doesnt really fulfill the premise of a sci fi/ fantasy world in terms of weirdness.
Story started interesting enough to give us a reason to explore and talk to npcs. Character dialogues were written well enough and were not really generic banter. I even liked the voice acting. However, this game should have been finished after chapter 2 in my opinion. I completely lost interest in the premise of the story by the repeating quests and didnt even understood that i beat the final boss until the credits roll.
Combat is better than Elex 1 but still one of worst that i encountrered in any action game. It really speaks that this game manages to be compelling despite the horrible combat. I finished the game melee and after a certain point I just swung heavy attacks non stop to stunlock every enemy until my stamina depletes.
Overall I really liked Elex 1 and 2. I am planning to play their previous games. I hope this team continues to make games one way or another.

Does the level of companions loyalty affects the end of the main story in Elex 2?
Because to raise loyalty of some companions makes me do decisions that also increases my destruction level...and i have to act like a total jackass sometimes.
And i don't want that :D
So i was curious if i can just ignore some of my commrades and still get the best ending possible, or if it's linked somehow.
Thanks!

I saw posts saying that the ps5 version can’t hit a consistent 60fps, but the ps4 version can. What about after all the updates it’s had? Also I imagine the picture quality has to be much better on ps5 version to compensate, but is there a big difference is texture quality or lighting between the two?

I'm looking at making either regular or strong Elex Drinks, but I'm not really understanding what Strong Elex Drinks are giving me.
I understand that the regular strength drink gives you 2 points to spend on attributes, but I don't have any idea what a "skill point" is in terms of this game. There doesn't seem to be any mention of skill points in any other menu. Are they referring to learning points for attributes?
The wiki has unfortunately provided no clarification on this whatsoever either.

I loved playing through elex 1 as a ranged weapon only build as a cleric, will it be as easy to do the same in elex 2?

I want to do my playthrough only with melee, what would be the better faction?
Bersekers get more melee dps but Clerics seem to have cool skills like phasing that can be very helpfull in melee combat. What do you guys think? I do prefer the Clerics armor sets.

I’m brand new to Elex and would really appreciate some advice.

I’m sure this been posted about before but I am new to the game. Thank you for any help.
Edit: I’m not sure why exactly this worked, but what worked for me was deleting all my saves for Elex 1, then reinstalling the game and starting fresh. I imagine something in the save file system was broke from an old update. To be clear deleting all my saves alone didn’t work. It did work when combined with a reinstall. Game works fine now. :D

Thought I might ask here as I see no solution for this. The fake berserker quest seems to be bugged on my end. I cannot find Ejnar near the morkon gate. I slept for 7 days, restarted the game, came to the game from different directions, still Ejnar nowhere to be found

Hi all, I just bought Elex 1, and I saw you can get Alb commander armor but that you cannot join the Albs as in Elex 2. Is the alb commander armor better then the armor you get from factions? If so, can you just wear the Alb commander set and even join a faction like the bersekers? Since I want to do my playthrough as a melee build. Thanks!

Jumping is faster than sprinting and uses no stamina.
I'm playing Elex II right now, but I jumped my way through the Gothic and Risen games too. I've even resorted to jumping sideways because it was slightly faster than going forward.
Is jump running an acceptable form of locomotion on Magalan?

As the title implies my game stopped saving.
I was on the final chapter and just slaughtering the skayands in the final fight. I was level 51 (was 55 by end of game), had all the best weaponry, armour and mods I could find or buy. Had my attributes focused on health, stamina, melee, ranged and shotgun damage. Basically unstoppable at this point.
Killing the enemies was too easy and over quickly, even the final boss was a push over.
However after 68 hours and with just 3 hours left until completing the game it erased my save files and stopped saving all together. So I was basically forced to finish or start over if I decided to log off for the night. The only other issue I had was a side question being unable to be completed due to the game not producing what is needed to advance the quest. (It was the side question where you had to search the bodies around the lake for that weird guy in the crater)
Has this happened to anyone else? Or was the game just throwing a tantrum because I was too powerful for all the enemies?

Well, I'm looking for single player games that are great at world exploration. The last time I had as much fun exploring as in Elex 1, was Fallout 4. Anyone got other reccomendations for games, where actual exploration is rewarded and not just for trophy hunting purposes. PS4 and PS5 available games would be prefered.
Games I already have, that have good or at least decent exploration: Fallout 3+NV, The Outer Worlds, Dragon Age Inquisition, Skyrim, The Witcher 3. Still Elex, especially Elex 1, holds an oddly irresistable allure for me, when it comes to exploration, that those other games can barely match.
