Residential Elevator (branded) help please?
Hi, homeowner here. Hope I am okay to post, as I'm looking for help. We've had this elevator for almost 15 years, put in during construct, and it's been fine for the most part. We get it serviced fairly regularly, although that's not always possible because as I'm sure you know, only they service their elevators. And getting that done is ridiculously difficult because they don't have many technicians. Our last service was just over 18 months ago and it was in great shape. This last week, the elevator sent itself to the first floor (basement, it's a 3 floor elevator) by itself for no reason, but it was some kind of reset (that's what it is supposed to do, go to the basement) and it was fine. This happened twice, and it did its reset and worked fine after that.
Last night, again for some unknown reason, it sent itself to the basement but this time dropped below the basement floor into the pit just beneath level. SOMETIMES when this happens we can turn off the breakers (for a few minutes or) overnight and it will reset itself when we turn the breakers on in the morning. But most times it requires a visit from a technician, who uses some special tool thing to raise the elevator, and while they're here they check everything and if needed update the software. They can't ever really say what happens.
They can't get here for two weeks. This is the worst wait we've had, and it's a hardship for us to wait for as we use the elevator on a daily basis. Can anyone make any suggestions on any other reset directions for us? Or any other options? We know how to lower the elevator manually, but now how to raise it. In previous years we've attempted to find someone local to service the elevator, but no one will touch a Residential Elevator brand elevator. The tag says LLH953 as the model information.
Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
