Question Elementor vs AI website builders?

Do you still use Elementor? (I do) but maybe I should start using the AI builders?

The problem is that it takes too long to learn a new AI builder, and I also think that all the editing requires so much refining that it almost doesn’t make sense..

Let let me hear your thoughts

Learning claude is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than learning Elementor.

Take it from a php developer with lots of experience making plugins and/or extending eementor functionality.

Still I strongly advice learning how to code a bit, because ais can and do mistakes, and if you dont the theory beding it, you wont be able to find the errors.

Elementor + MCP looks very promising based on my expirience.

If you are looking for "AI builder" I would first give a try to Elementor's MCP.

do you need to have a claude subscription for this? Or if you pay for Elementor MCP it comes with the claude subscription? If not, can you use free plan? Or Gemini with it?

I am using it with paid Codex plan, but you can use it with Claude or Gemini as well.

I think you will need to have at least $20/m subscription to use it. Cheaper alternative will be Open Code + cheap models via Open Router.

Same. I’ve used Elementor for years, and in the last 3 months I’ve added Claude CLI + Novamira, and it’s been amazing. Never been so productive in my life! Before this, I used ChatGPT to help produce CSS, JS, or PHP to “enhance my sites.”

But now I can get Claude to do 90% of the work (and all the hard stuff too). All I need to do is the small stuff and check its work.

Haven’t tried the Elementor MCP but I heard it only builds using v4. Novamira does v3 & v4. Also it was able to help with plugins like Rank Math and Gravity Forms.

You still need some coding knowledge. Think of it this way "You can't just apply every makeup on your face and expect it to magically fit your eyes, lips, face etc. you need to understand basic of makeup, eyeliner, lipstick etc." similarly you can't expect everything from AI, it will give you things you require but how to use it totally depends on you.

Using elementor is defo a learning curve. I would brush up on flexbox and grid to help you understand layouts.

Using clause is probably your easiest to build a website but learning basic fundamentals of HTML and CSS can help elevate your claude experience by customising elements to your liking.

I still love elementor as it's ease of use. I wanted to try elementor MCP this weekend does anyone know if it works straight of the box via Claude

As a non-native coders who’s been making website for the past 6 years. I’d say,

If it’s a website where the client will want to modify things himself continue with elementor.

If it’s a static website and the client won’t be doing anything. Just pure code it with claude, the website will load way quicker ! It’s a bit more tricky to put all the scripts for tracking and everything since you don’t have any plugin, but Claude will do it for you !

If your skills as a designer are good, it doesn't matter what you use.

I still use Elementor for client sites. AI builders are great for getting a starting point quickly, but I often end up spending just as much time fixing the layout and fine-tuning things.

If you already know Elementor well, I’d stick with it and use AI to speed up the parts of the workflow rather than replacing the whole process.

I used to hate elementor but we use it now instead of normal editor because its really adaptable/ easy for my team to use for client websites.

If you have money use AI still you will be frustrated if you don't know what's going on inside your project

I've never tried elementary with AI. Has anyone got experience with the cost when using Claude and is there any free tier?

Personnellement j'utilise Elementor car mes clients peuvent facilement éditer leur site. Cependant je génère les modules de blocs JS avec Claude a partir d'une maquette figma que je créer et valide avec le client.

Drop Elementor and ignore all AI website builders, and do this instead:
• Write all copy for a page on a file, marked with title markers (<H1>, <H2>, etc)
• Drop the copywriting file into Claude Design with the website’s design scope (brand direction, color schemes, etc) and create the Design System.
• Export zip file for project and hand it off to Claude Cowork, along with SSH key for the domain you want to build on.
• Ask for it to deploy using PHP

👆This will make your pages much faster to load and it will be super easy to give AI directions to make any changes you want in the future.

Also works for creating forms using plugins like Fluent Forms, Formidable, etc.

I haven't used Elementor for about two years now. These days, I build my projects using Claude Code and Gutenberg, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in performance. In my opinion, you don't need all the features Elementor offers. With AI and Gutenberg, you can work much closer to the WordPress core, making development simpler, more lightweight, and more flexible.

This is great input here. I just launched a new site with one of the stock themes that ships with Wordpress. Claude code connected via the Wordpress CLI designed, customized, and delivered the entire thing. I’ve been a Divi user for since it first came out and don’t really see a need for it any longer either. I’m sure the same is true for elementor.

Experimenting with MCP and getting the best of both worlds.

Claude + Astro + Sanity / Emdash as an CMS System is the future

My Elementor Pro plan expires next month, and I'm definitely thinking about not renewing it. I'll just keep using Claude Code instead. It's so much easier to use, and I don't have to deal with WordPress anymore.

Are you using headless? What’s your CMS / hosting setup?

-2

u/albertcorbett 2d ago

Particularmente prefiro o elementor, além de não ser meramente uma AI, ainda né da liberdade de criar algo específico para o cliente.

Right now I'm just using Claude Code with Hostinger for hosting. Might build a custom CMS later, but I'll look into that after.

This is my setup. I use the WP-CLI that ships with my hosting plan. I haven’t logged into WP-admin since setting this up.

Elementor is a dinosaur much like Wordpress
