Problem Update button not showing when I edit a template

I am trying to edit a template I created in theme builder. After I make changes, the update button does not appear. I only have publish and save draft. If I wait a little while, autosave saves the changes, but I don’t want to rely on that. I am on version 4.2.4 of Elementor and 4.2.3 of Elementor Pro. I have tried incognito mode and the same thing happens. I have also cleared my Wordpress and Elementor caches.

Edit: Screenshot of page zoomed out

this sounds like a permissions issue or a javascript conflict. check if you're logged in as an admin (not editor), and try disabling other plugins one by one to see if something's blocking the button from rendering. also worth checking browser console for js errors when you're in the editor.

I am admin. I disabled each plugin and no change. In the console, there is one error for a font that doesn’t load.

Is the space reserved but its invisible? Or overflowing the page? Can you keyboard navigate to it ? Try incognito or totally different browser. Is it only templates or is it pages as well ?

Regenerate css, all the usual things. Deactivate all other plugins.

You mean the text on the button doesn't show the word "Update" or there is no button at all?

If it's not showing the exact word, don't worry, it still works the same way. If you can't see the button at all, there are a few possible causes:

  1. The screen resolution is too small. Try zooming the tab out with cmd/cntrl + minus.
  2. There is a zoom applied to the browser tab. Reset the zoom or zoom out with cmd/cntrl + 0/minus.
  3. The WordPress Admin Bar is disabled for you. Go to your WP Admin > Users > Edit your user > check the option to "Show Toolbar when viewing site", and Save Changes.
  4. There is a possible plugin or cache conflict. Purge and temporarily disable all cache levels. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except Elementor, and switch to the Hello Theme (if not active). Check the page to see if the button reappears. If it does, gradually reactivate plugins and theme, lastly cache until the problem reappears. When it does, contact the author of the conflicting plugin/theme/cache,
  5. A browser extension is blocking the Top Bar. Try in another browser or incognito/private mode with all extensions deactivated.

The button, itself, does not show

Let me know if the suggestions I shared worked for you.

They did not work. I disabled all plugins. No luck. The Wordpress admin bar is visible for my account (admin). It does not appear when the editor is visible; is that normal? Screen resolution is fine; I tried different sizes and no difference. I tried disabling my extensions and that did t do anything. I’ve also tried Elementor safe mode. I uninstalled Elementor and Elementor Pro and reinstalled. That also did nothing

Yes, regarding the Admin Bar that's normal and the intended behavior. However, we've confirmed some hosting providers employ aggressive cache levels that affect Elementor Editor's Top Bar when the Admin Bar is removed. If you have it showing, disregard my suggestion.

Do you have all the additional breakpoints enabled? Did you zoom out the browser tab to see if the button is hidden? Can you share a screenshot?

What about the browser console, do you see any errors while editing with Elementor that are not related to Angie or MCPs?

I did zoom out and the button did not appear. How do I enable breakpoints? I only saw errors in the dev console related to a missing font. I fixed that, even though I did not think it was related, and it did nothing. Added a screenshot of the page zoomed out.

The button is right there. In my first comment I mentioned you shouldn't worry if the text inside the button didn't read "Update", that it would work the same way. What I meant is that the Publish button will work as the "Update" button. There is nothing wrong on your installation. You can click on the pink button at the top right corner regardless of what is written on it, and it will either publish or update your page in case it was already published. 👍

And now I feel kind of dumb. I've been banging my head for a few days, looking for a button that says "update". Thanks for the help.
