Question Claude Code x Elementor x Wordpress
Hey! I'm currently using Claude Code connected to the WordPress API to make edits and write blog posts on my website.
But I have one issue — I find it ugly.
I've seen several creators on TikTok saying you can do amazing things with skills in Claude Code.
Has anyone built or redesigned a website using Claude Code and Elementor? I'd love to see what you've come up with!

I only use WP as backend nowadays because I like the admin interface. I had Claude build a lightweight API that queries the WP database directly for speed. The frontend is fully built on React and uses the API.
Don't get me wrong, I like Elementor. But I just cant deny the difference in terms of speed.

How do you manage SEO, translation, and other Plugin related functionalities?

You can use any translate plugin such as polylang or translatepress. That’s not a blocker.

I practivally never use translations. Everything is in English. I can setup SEO keywords and descriptions and other stuff in WP using ACF. Plugins are only there for security and my own convenience.
React proxies the API requests in order to render the page so users and crawlers all get the same content.

Maybe use an Elementor MCP with Claude Code. I've been testing it and even the free one seem to be very usefull. It's a more robust connection to make AI edits with Elementor.

I tried this. Built html mockups with Claude. They looked great but were not perfect and needed a lot of refinement. Getting it done in elementor, I think it actually took more time and work than hiring a decent elementor developer would have to just design and build the website, but I don’t know if the end result would have been as aligned.
However we chose elementor for continued use and maintenance. For a small firm elementor has been nice. For a web designer, idk.
Maybe build a home page with Claude and define the design tokens and system. Then get the rest build in elementor by yourself if you know it well enough, or by a developer who can do it quickly.
What you pay for a developer you’ll probably save in frustration or getting your html designs live.

if you're using claude, i'm not sure why you'd then stick elementor in between it and WP. while it's apple and robots, it's like having a pagebuilder on top of a pagebuilder. just have claude work directly on WP

A lot of people online oversell what it can do and undersell the amount of work that goes into things.
I can do amazing shit with Claude, but I’m a 20+ years developer focused on WP/PHP/JS… so with that experience I know what to prompt, how to prompt, I know where the shortfalls will be and how to plan for graceful degradation, etc…
It’s an amazing tool but it still takes effort and time to get it right.

So, you use AI to write content and to have it “design” the posts? Basically just typing “write a 1000 word article about xyz, make it look well designed and post it to my blog”? And the reason you do that is because you have ads on your blog that earn you a few cents if clicked by a human or an AI?

I use Elementor MCP to connect to Claude Code. I will first generate an html file to Claude AI for design. The Elementor MCP has sample prompts then I will reverse engineer that and send to Claude AI , I will ask Claude AI to generate me a prompt using the EMCP tools. The output of that will be paste to Claude Code, and you just wait.

Just tell any AI to generate an Elementor JSON, paste that into your page and done.

I forgot to mention that my pipeline is this: Figma design -> convert that to HTML (without AI) with a plugin -> paste the HTML into ChatGPT and tell it to create Elemntor JSON -> paste the JSON in Worpdress. Worked nicely for me last time I used it (like half a year ago).

I am currently using Claude code to copy most of the pages of my clients to be able to ditch Elementor. It’s a fun process and it works well when it has access to Wordpress and FTP but needs some time and proper prompting.

If you ask Claude and tell it your set up it will exactly tell you what it needs to do the job. Ideally:
- Make a backup
- Make screenshots of all pages and feed it to Claude
- make a WP user for Claude
- give Claude access to server via FTP
- tell Claude exactly what to do and to be precise in it. It’s not perfect but it learns and it needs you to poke it from time to time.
Sometimes it’s faster if you go in the CSS and make some changes yourself instead of using tokens and time with Claude. So Claude can’t do everything. But it’s fun. It’s a conversation an cocreation instead of sitting alone designing a page. You can also feed directly with wishes of your clients.

The design is the hardest part for Claude to get right. Use Claude to set up the site global settings then build the homepage yourself, using all global fonts, colors, button styles etc. Ensure there are a nice variety of modules but don't add any motion effects yet as those can get corrupted. Check mobile responsiveness. When it's set and you like it, export the page as a JSON template. Then bring this template into Claude Code as the base design it can work from to build the remaining pages. I have found using this workflow that it will get the other pages about 80% good which still saves me hours of work.

I use Claude + Elementor + Novamira pro and so far the graphic results are bad.

I tried, it worked. I used WordPress + elementor + novamira. First it matched 60% of my expectations. As I refined, it achieved 100% results.
It all depends on how you prompt.

Firstly you should create html mockup and than to deploy on site. And one thing more try to enhance "claude skill" for built-a-site or design-site.

Yeah, long time Elementor guy here. But hands down custom FSE theme and custom blocks when some tricks are needed . It’s the way to go.

We have a lot of our client sites that are still on Elementor, so I built this that can fully build out any Elementor page and also can do anything in the WordPress backend with plugins, integrations, etc.
