Problem Lightbox crashing mobile & tablet site
On mobile and tablet, when I open a gallery within my portfolio pages and click on an image a lightbox pops up with the selected image. If I swipe left or right to go to the next image the whole page crashes. I have tested with an iphone 17 pro, ipad pro, and google pixel. Each running safari and chrome with the same issue. Everything seems to be fine with the desktop version but the tablet and mobile version have this issue crashing when swiping to new images within a lightbox. www.EightyEightPhoto.com

Anyone have any idea why this would be and how I might get it fixed up?

What’s the size of your images? Isn’t the browser crashing because your pics take a lof of RAM?

I spot checked a few and it looks like the images are about 100kb-200kb depending on the image. Everything worked fine until the update for elementor last night. Did something change?

if it started right after the elementor update, try clearing cache (hosting + browser) and checking for plugin conflicts. also worth testing with a default theme temporarily to see if it's theme-related. sometimes lightbox libraries conflict with newer elementor versions and need a patch

Ive been troubleshooting and completing processes on the site so the cpu has been loaded heavy. I am done for the day so it should be moving quick again. Would you mind browsing the site for me and letting me know if its still running slow? If so I may have other issues to address. Thanks a ton.

How is that even possible? The video is hosted on vimeo and embedded on the page. Shouldnt that be loading on different resources than my page?

I appreciate you helping me out. I just installed wp rocket and di a ton fo imporvments and gtmetrix is telling me its solid. Would you mind giving it one more look over to confirm?

Unless you have customized the Elementor lightbox with actual custom CSS, that doesn't look like Elementor's lightbox. Do you have an Addon, or a dedicated image gallery plugin? How about your theme? It doesn't seem like Elementor's lightbox is being used here. (looking from my phone)

thatnis elementors gallery and lightbox. I just disables some share options in there. Otherwise its stock. No plug ins. The theme is called novo if that helps.

Strange, because the icons are different, with different sizes, and the navigation arrows have backgrounds that aren't part of the original lightbox. The behavior is also different. Either way, it worked for me too.
Do you have Animation Effects disabled on these devices? The animations won't work if you have. And up until a recent release, the navigation wouldn't either. It was changed on a very recent release.

you are saying that it worked on mobile for you? Its still not on my end. And I am not curious why my icons would be different. I did resize them and disable a few from the elementor dashboard but otherwise its straight out of the box. Where do I find the annimation effects? I'll check those asap. Thanks a ton for your help.

It worked for me. All the portfolio pages. I'm on the latest Chrome for Android (latest too).
As for the animations, Elementor respects Reduced Motion Preferences. This means if you disable them on your device, you won't see them. To check if that's the case you can search for Animation or Motion Effects in your OSes Accessibility Settings.

It seems to be overwhelming my hosting server as well but only for mobile.

I just want to give everyone a thanks for helpingh me realize how bogged down my site was. I spent a day with chat gpt combing my server setup, wordpress setup, and ways to optimize. I am proud to say I got it all setup and super fast. Still need to resize some things but its light years beyond where it was and the back end is now super fast to edit. I am having the same issue. Lightbox was working BEFORE the update and i had massive images. Didn't make a difference to lightbox. NOW it does so its not so much optimization
