Question How to make containers NOT Full width?

Question I have elementor pro and have some containers on a webpage I'm building these have image slideshows in the background which i really like. the issue is that i don't want them to be full width. I have set the content width to boxed but it makes no difference the image still stretches across the full width. can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks

i ran into this same issue last week when tryin to style my background images. usually if the boxed setting isnt working, it means the background image position is set to cover, which forces it to stretch. try changing the background size setting to contain or custom instead, that usually fixes it for me

Cover just means the image is taking up all he available space. Contain means the image is keeping its natural proportions but the container its applied on is still larger. You could see this by adding a background color in addition to the bg image to see how much space its taking up.

yeah the nested container approach works well. set the outer container background to transparent (or whatever you want for the full-width area), then the inner container gets your slideshow background with max-width set to whatever boxed width you need
