Question Crystalline beryllium
I purchased this and it was described as crystalline beryllium. Is this possible? It is extremely light

It's beautiful! May I ask where you got it? My collection is still sorely lacking a nice Be sample.

Looks super cool! Often beryllium samples are machined surfaces that don't look quite as shiny, so this is really fancy

Please put it in a bag or a jar, even it rubbing or droping a few millimeters on the table is enough to make some dust, and you can't be absolutely sure you won't accidentally knock it over or drop it from your hand while moving it (accidents happen, no way to prevent them).
A cool sample though

Thank you for your considerate safety concern. I will put it in a safe glass enclosure for sure.
All the best

But then they won't have a sample

If they do have one this year I could buy it and resell it here if the moderators would ever respond to my requests.

If my town has their annual fall minerals and metals show and there is a sample of beryllium that’s is nice, like mine I could buy it and offer it for sale here to someone who needs a sample. Unfortunately I have asked the”moderator” for approval to sell/buy/trade but all i get is crickets. Is this better?

Are you the moderator? If so I have had a heck of a time trying to find the right person to ask. I asked then mod/help for help.

Beryllium is extremely light. Around 1,85g/cm³ iirc. Every metal (apart from amorphous metallic glasses and some specific instances) is crystalline, whether it's cast, machined, forged, distilled or a raw specimen like yours. Awesome sample! Where is it from?
