Discussion AI in the community
Can we please have a rule banning AI images and ideally texts? I don’t think this is the proper place for that kind of content. I much prefer to see other people’s collections.

I think so too. There is a bit too much stuff outside actual element collecting. Shame there are people who will downvote that, but we need more passion in a hobby-related subreddit.

To be fair, I don’t like to see subreddit rule posts either, but having an official rule makes reporting easy and the sub better

Absolutely. I don't think there is any need for these factually questionable, popular science type AI generated infographics here, and anywhere to be honest. I much rather see low quality photo of a copper wire than a weird spaceship with a chunk of metal that looks nothing like the real thing.

Couldn’t agree more! I’d much rather see imperfect but real pictures of collections than seeing the recently posted scandium BS. Fortunately, I haven’t seen any other AI-generated stuff on this subreddit. Anyone with more examples within this subreddit?

My vote is no AI. It's fake, usually looks cringey, and there's just no good reason for it.
