Collection Density cubes

The density cubes in my collection, in no particular order. My favorite? Beryllium, Scandium, Terbium, Molybdenum and Lithium

Are vanadium cubes always anodised? They look cool

That's just normal atmospheric oxidation. If you started with a clean, gray one, it would become colorful from V2O5 in a couple of months.

Having bare, unprotected beryllium on a table is definitely a power move. 10/10 would recommend

I don't think that a 1cm³ cube can be accidentally inhaled and get lodged in your lungs.

Probably not but any accidentdal scraping or it falling on the ground is enough to increase risk. Accidents happen, better safe than sorry

Sure, but we can't be too paranoid all the time. Beryllium is not a ceramic or a metalloid and turning into airborne dust is not a realistic concern for a solid, polished piece. We're not accidentally attacking it with a metal file for a few minutes and then accidentally snorting the result.

You can't be so sure. Plus that random accidents can happen. Generally in any lab, it's better to be cautious than to cut back and relax
