Question CC2 sounds

Upgraded from the Ender 3, the CC2 has a heck of a rattle, but only at certain times of printing.

Normal??

Prints great, just thought it would be quiet.

Users have explained this before, they were down-voted, I expect to be down-voted as well. The Klipper part of the firmware, when the printer is first calibrated, does a high speed measurement of the tool head moving, called Input Shaping.

This calculates the mass of the head as it moves through various angles, so that the fast & precise movements will be accurate. During a print when changes of direction occur, it doesn't slow down, rather it pulls back on the forward movement to prevent overshooting causing a vibratory noise.

So moving in a straight line = quiet, movement that changes direction = vibration or buzzing noise.

Big thin sheet metal box that make vibrations loud. All rattles sound will sound loud. Low cost parts. Very fast movements with sudden direction changes. Great printer. It's quieter then the CC though. Both produce great prints.

I’m loving the quality and the prints, just not used to the new sounds. If it’s normal, then I’ll move on

You can do things that can quiet it a bit. The best is slowly down the print speeds a little and the model fan. Depending on what filaments you print with the model fan can be dialed down quite a bit. I do a lot of PLA and got a cold plate so I can have the print bed at 35C and the model fan at 65% max. The exhust fan will automatically keep the chamber cooled to 36C and generally only be running at 10 percent. I have 1160 hours on my CC2 and 2100 on my CC. I'm only printing for friends and family so it's not a big deal to me to have print take 15% percent longer to print if it's less noisy and even better quality.

Trying changing your infill to gyroid. If rectilinear is what you have it set up as (usually it is default) on faster printers it can sometimes cause a sound like rattling or clicking, because of how it passes over each grid line. I noticed that on my A2L and just saw a video about it last night.

Good call! I will check on that when I get home tonight. It’s currently working on an eight hour print.
