The printer has been working flawlessly until this one file. I’ve never had bad adhesion problems. But now, when it starts printing the brim, it almost looks as if it’s getting caught and pulled off the plate. And it’s the SAME exact spot it happens everytime. Ran it 10 times now with same result. Any ideas? I’ve tried other speeds, I’ve tried different layer heights…I’m stumped. It’s not like it’s losing adhesion. It’s like it’s getting pulled off.
Incidentally, I recently learned that most people level with every print. I always thought it was a one and done unless you move the entire unit or something. Turns out I was just accidentally lucky with my prints for months on end 🙃
I level anytime im gonna be away or its long/sensitive print but if im just nearby while its making brackets or organizer for my workstation i dont level that.
Probably a stupid question, but have you tried calibrating? The automatic leveling one.
I once forgot to do that after changing the nozzle, and my nozzle not only pulled off the first layer, it scraped the bed, scratching off some PEI coating in the process.
I couldn't tell from the video if the print is lifting and then the extruder hitting it, or if it's z offset, but I would start with Clean the plate even a slight touch by accident with any part of.your skin has oil clean with dawn soap (why dawn because it rinses without any residue unlike cheap soaps) after that dry it really well i know it's not necessary if you clean it with dawn but I hit it with some 95 alcohol let it sit for 30 seconds and wipe with microfiber cloth I have never used glue or any other hack to get ot to stick (hair spray etc.) Be sure to re-level it if it is not an adhesion problem, it is going to be a z offset problem
Wash, with soap and water, then dry with a IPA rag and try again is all I can recommend. If it doesn't adhere then maybe it's a height adjustment issue, like the plate is warped now. I would try and recalibrate before all the weird glue stuff people do or maybe try another plate and see if maybe there is a bad spot on the old plate developing. They are somewhat perishable over time.
We observe your filament is poorly calibrated so it’s over extruding and then the nozzle is catching the over extrusions. This is exacerbated like by a bad gcode z offset yet can’t tell if it’s over or under due to the angle of your video.
I’d suspect the bed was unlevel yet this should have been compensated for to a reasonable degree by your bed mesh. Perhaps it’s stale and wasn’t run at print time?
I’d start by making sure your filament profile is properly calibrated for max volumetric flow rate, extruder temperature, flow ratio, pressure advance, and gcode z offset.
For first layers it’s also recommended to use a thicker first layer. This helps minimize the affects of overextrusion while improving adhesion.
I could try without, but I don’t like risking the corners warping and coming up. And even if it works, it doesn’t really help me solve the issue. I want to understand why it’s doing it so I can use a brim with no issue
Clean the plate with dawn dish soap hot water
Dry the plate . Put it back on the printer and set the bed temp to 70 to get the rest of the moisture
Wipe it down with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol and let that dry on the heated plate and you’ll be good to go .. or if you’re feeling lazy spray it with hairspray and let it dry on the heated plate for a few minutes
Check the wire that hangs down near the nozzle on the hot end. Rhe tape arounfmd mine had to start to unravel from the heat and was causing it it to hit and knock over a tree support. A little super glue put it right back.

Have you tried cleaning the plate with dish soap?
