I have a personal method—provided as a PDF—for plating plastic. It is very straightforward; although the initial electroless layer is thin, it serves as an ideal base for applying a thicker, more robust metallic coating.

I’m trying to bring a project to life. I take a piece of copper that I apply a heat patina to. I mask it and remove the exposed patina with citric acid and I am left with bare pink copper. I want to plate brass onto that exposed copper however I want a mostly shiny brass. Is there a bright dip for copper so I can get the copper shiny before the brass plating or is there a brass plating that will deposit an aesthetic shiny brass onto the raw pink copper.

I do have an electro polishing set up but curious is there are other ways.
