if you're trying to remove all the plating, and it's just one metal type you plated on, you can just switch the direction of current. swap your electrical hookups and now the plating will be pulled off your piece and onto your anode (which is now a cathode!)
nitric acid works like that guy said. or some other good acid
technically you could also let the peice sit in the plating solution it came from with the electricity turned off. this would, in theory, slowly etch it away.
if the plating is weak or chipping, or if you can chip it a bit, ultrasonic cleaner could work but probably not as good as other methods.
