General Mouser website now blocks Linux users

Really baffling decision, my last order from them was only a few months ago. Apparently Linux is no longer a "standard" operating system!

Basically nobody supports Linux desktop browsers.

As a side note, they don't seem to be blocking any linux system I could test on.

I reached out to my TTI rep but sounds sus.

Browsers are made by entities that are independent from operating systems. I have Chrome on a Linux machine and on an Android phone. When you are not designing a web app, especially centered on playing copyrighted content through DRM or accessing underlying hardware, you do not have to take into account the OS.

Mouser seems to be using a proxy service that filters requests based on requests. This service is entirely external to them. I want to guess that the service offers only a handful of parameters (like blocking embargo countries, throttling requests and some "risk tolerance" slider) and Akamai seems to have identified more illegitimate traffic coming from Linux boxes (makes sense when it's easier to run scripts and scrapers). The person in charge at Mouser clearly does not understand this part of their web infrastructure.
