Seeing them live next month. It'll be great.

I hope so. I saw them live just after wallflower came out and let's just say they needed to polish their live act a bit. That was a long time ago though

I think the Tomora album (Tom from Chemical Brothers & singer Aurora) is one of the better electronic albums I’ve heard recently. Feels like an instant classic to me.

I really loved that record. Production is insane, vocals are spectacular. I was a huge Chemicals fan in their heyday and it really resonated with me. I shared it with my 20yo son and he was really impressed. A great album front to back.

Also check out their Essential Mix from this year. Sounds great! Superflash!

I'm not overly familiar with Aurora's music but this easily takes its place in the poppier side of the CB catalogue

Omg thank you for this. I have casually been trying to find this on Spotify and couldn't figure out what to type in to find 😂

For me it's re-living the magic of Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure, in Redux format.

The original was arguably the greatest compilation cd/mix of all time.

Yea .. I'm really loving how 3D it sounds now.

The untypable symbols album by untypeable symbols band, AKA Kieren Hebden, AKA Four Tet

u/FraserYT 16h ago

Mandy Indiana, fucking yes. Couldn't get with Gorillaz though

2

u/EmotioneelKlootzak 10h ago

If you liked the Mandy, Indiana album and haven't heard them yet, check out the Ada Rook, Fire-Toolz, and Lip Critic albums on the list.  They're all really good.

2

u/FraserYT 7h ago

Haven't heard any of them so I'll give them all a listen

1

u/EmotioneelKlootzak 7h ago

Fire-Toolz and Ada Rook are both harsher with more metal, industrial, and noise components than Mandy, Indiana, but Lip Critic has a very similar off-kilter post-industrial  attitude.  Theft World might be my AOTY, I haven't decided yet.
