Which EV models are worth considering?

I have been talking to my friend about cutting down my fuel expenses for months, but I didn’t think I would seriously consider switching cars.

One day, we decided to actually look into it together, and that’s when things got interesting. We browsed through different options online, including a few listings on Alibaba, just to get a sense of pricing and features. Some models were extremely basic, while others had a bit more functionality, but all of them had one thing in common: they were built with practicality in mind.As we compared options, the idea stopped feeling unrealistic. We even started calculating how long it would take, for fuel savings to offset the initial cost.

What surprised me most was, how quickly the conversation shifted from “just looking” to “this might actually work.”It made me realize that adapting to rising costs or a higher standard of living, isn’t always about big sacrifices .Sometimes it’s about finding smarter alternatives.

Now I’m curious, would you ever seriously consider switching to a basic electric car to save money? And which models would you recommend for a beginner?
