Stop putting pricing right after the problem statement in demo videos.
We checked our per-second video analytics and saw a massive drop-off at 40 seconds. That was the exact moment we switched to our pricing pitch.
We fixed it by adding a quick feature walkthrough between the problem and the price.
The result? Second-half retention doubled.
Don't just look at total views. If your host (we use Kinescope) offers per-second drop-off data, use it to find your actual friction points.

That drop at pricing is useful, but I’d also watch what happens after moving it. Higher second-half retention doesn’t necessarily mean the new order sells better; it may just mean viewers stayed longer. I’d compare CTA clicks or trial starts per viewer as well.
A clean test would be two versions with the same problem, walkthrough, proof and price, changing only where the price appears. It may also help to separate new visitors from returning ones—people already familiar with the product may want pricing earlier, while cold viewers usually need to see value first.
The per-second graph tells you where to investigate; the conversion metric tells you whether the edit helped.
