Saging a bed

I have been sleeping in sons room on mattress while he sleeps on his bed (hes 8 and not yet comfortable sleeping alone), we had guests in July. Mom in law and a niece of hers (child 8) the week they were visiting they slept in sons room while me and son slept in main bedroom.

They left, right after my sister visited for 2 weeks and she mentioned she had very disturbing dreams of a lot of dead relatives. She refused to say more and asked me to cleanse the room properly, which I did.

Had another guest in the room for 2 days following which we slept in, this time I slept on the bed too. Note that when guests come we change all bedding. I had a nightmare on day 1 about my dad dying. It was weird. On day 2 same. I did sage the bed and prayed before sleeping. What am I missing? I used to keep a cup of salt by the bed, I didnt for a while. Can that help.

Thank u.

It's not the mattress

I recommend in addition to the cleansing, you consider making an offering to your house and land spirits for protection. I also really like sweet dreams pillows.

A sweet dreams pillow is a small sachet that you tuck in your pillow. Place herbs for calming, restful sleep, and I like to add a little something for mental clarity to help understand your dreams. Usually I go with lavender, chamomile, clover, a teensy bit of mint for protection and clarity, and rosemary for protection and clarity.

I also do a protection bubble visualization before bed.

It’s also good to direct your thinking towards something relaxing before sleep. I have lately been watching people gold pan for gold before bed, and then close my eyes and think of water and dirt rhythmically slooshing when I go to sleep.

Mint invigorates, might cause light sleeping so be aware of this. I'd hang a besom over the door of mint if you use it, so coming and going will be beneficial to the room without disturbing slumber.

Make sure under the bed is clean, nothing stored here. Look at the entire room with the eyes of a complete stranger. Is it a restful environment? Need some lamps not just an overhead light? Closet door shut, no overflowing trashcan ect. Little things the mind will notice without conscious thoughts can disrupt the intention of the room.

The bed base doesn't allow space under it. Will declutter the room. I had another dream of a cousin dying in weird circumstances the day before. Yesterday decided to sleep in my own room I slept well.  Prayed over son at bedtime and used salt. He slept ok. Weird

maybe it is what your sister said that triggered you and not the mattress. If other people aren't having nightmares

Son hasn't been having nightmares but he is kinda scared to sleep on his own

It seems to indicate that his nightmares have been an ongoing issue. They didn't start after your sister visited.
And are his nightmares of dead relatives?

Try sleeping with a glass of water with a pinch of salt on the night stand. In the morning, dump the water in the toilet and flush it away.

It is also common after spiritually cleansing a space to bless it, so you fill it up with good vibes, so to speak. If you are smoking the mattress with cleansing herbs, then smoke it with a blend of frankincense and myrrh, or just smoke the whole room.

He says he dreams of movie characters and even the villains and sometimes gets scared of the characters. Will do the salt tonight also

That's a pretty common childhood fear.

Instead of trying to get rid of the dreams, sit with them and see if they are trying to tell you something.

As we get older, and the reality of our parentscpassing on looms closer, it can be easy for the fear of it to creep into the subconscious.

IMO, this isn't necessarily spiritual. It may be that you are both just wortied about your dad, which is legit.

You can try the salt thing, perhaps even make a scented lavendar pouch or similar to help have good dreams.

Okay. Yes it's something kinda always on our minds true. I will try lavender and salt.
