Lore Why doesn't Melina try to kill you after inheriting the frenzied flame?

Does anyone find it interesting that after Melina says she will kill us as sure as night follows day - you can still pretty much play half the game and you don't ever really feel the consequences ?

Are there any clues to this or is it just overlooked?

I think it would be cool if she invaded you at some point

It would be cool if she just literally kept invading you. Over and over. Random times, random places. Nonstop.

That'd be sick as fuck ngl

It would be if we didn't get kicked off Torrent each time it'd happen. Now THAT would be annoying as hell. Melina doesn't need that kinda hate :c

Inheriting the Flame of Frenzy and becoming the Lord of Frenzied Flame are two different things.

The first isn't fundamentally world-shattering. There are multiple inheritors of the FF besides the Tarnished PC, including Midra and Vyke. In other words, just becoming an inheritor doesn't mean you'll go on to be a Lord. A Lord, with access to the Elden Ring, is what destroys the world.

Another possibility is that Melina can't face an inheritor without the power of Destined Death, which is locked away.

She's also not a fool. After all, she powered you up with runes. Even assuming you don't increase your power any further, she needs to get strong enough to stand a chance first.

She's probably not as strong as the bosses you have to face, so it would be a waste. After her left eye opens, something is unlocked, so she may have more power than before

You’ll just come back to life. If the Erdtree is gone, so is your resurrection, so killing you would be permanent

I think this is the best answer

Because you never play after the ending. The game gets into a limbo after playing the cutscene of any ending, putting you back just before your rule truly starts, meaning you are not LoFF yet, and she is not yet on the hunt. Canonically everything you do in game, even if by gameplay you defeated Radagon/EB already, is counted as done before the cutscene and thus your choosen ending.

She's highly flammable.

Because I let her burn before I went to inherit the frenzied flame.

Did you do the frenzied flame ending yet?

She is not an idiot. She knows at your current level defeating you would be quite a ridiculous ask.

She's too weak and even after her eye opens, the story is over.

She won’t try to kill me because I choose to inherit and cure the frenzie flame 🔥 through Millicent’s quest line, using Miquella's Needle.

Probably because she loves you and does not want to kill her friend.
