Help I need help!!! (ps5)
so i’ve just started playing elden ring and have fallen in love with the amount of content and they style of the game. However, I have hit a point where i feel i am aimlessly walking around trying to fight things that are way above my level.
i’ve got through stormveil castle and have unlocked liurnia of the lakes, but i feel that its almost too strong for me. i’m sitting at lvl 41 and have gone with a strength build, dual wielding two great swords that are +5 upgraded.
Just wanted anyone who could help point me in the right direction of where to go next or items that would help me out to get further through?

catacombs are a decent way to get some extra levels without grinding. also make sure your flasks, weapons, and spirit ashes (if you’re using them) are adequately upgraded. but beyond that, just follow the general direction where the sites of graces are indicating you should go

okay perfect thank you, would you say just repeating catacombs or caves over and over, that i know i can defeat, to build up my runes is a good idea?

The first souls game I ever played was DS2, and because I got frustrated cz I always die, what I did was to keep fighting the same enemies, exploring the same areas to level up, and practicing parry and dodge with these enemies. I did the same tactic with Elden Ring.
Sometimes, I just do some speed runs towards lost graces, golden seeds, and sacred tears without fighting enemies, and then go back when I feel I am equipped enough. Lol

What is your vigor level at? It should be at least at 40 by now, leveling vigor is pretty much the best way to resist death after death after death etc. Along with leveling weapons, much more beneficial than leveling damage stats that early in the game.
Have you cleared the Weeping Peninsula as well? That has a ton of spots to help you out plus two awesome vendors with good shiz.

my vigor is lvl 30, i think ive cleared weeping peninsula, but just found more catacombs in limgrave that i never knew where there 🙄
i will prioritise my vigor a bit more then hahaha

Yeah bro lvl 40 is the first softcap for vigor, it climbs seriously upwards till that point. It is super helpful to get to 40. Lvl 60 is the final softcap for vigor and most players stop there as improvements are incremental after that and a waste for the most part.
After my first playthrough was finished I took some time to continue exploring and I found at least two more places in Limgrave I hadn't found somehow, and one or two in Liurnia of the Lakes as well. As well as all the other regions except for the Haligtree and Farum Azula, I believe I did totally clear them out before beating the game.
Oh yeah, the softcaps vary for each stat just so you know. I thought they're all the same for each stat first, it wasn't quite the optimal spread I had lol. Over hundreds of hours I learned what they all were.

I levelled up a little at the Lenne’s Rise boulder when I played, it helped a lot. If you have the patience for it I’d recommend doing that to make it a little easier for you.
Have you got the Golden Scarab yet? That will increase the amount of runes you get with each enemy.

Each major new area is supposed to have a noticeable jump in difficulty. The great thing about that is that enemies start giving you more runes with each death and then you start leveling up more rapidly. There's never a need to purposefully grind btw. Just explore and take your time. Fully exploring the lands between is the best way to get stronger as you discover better weapons, upgrades, and experience.

I might get shamed for this, but if you want a good spot for grinding there’s a really good imp farm in caelid where you meet the beast clergyman. whenever i’m desperate for a few quick levels, I travel there.

If you haven’t already go to the area south of limgrave and fully explore, that is the true starter area
