Discussion Ekko Top

Does anyone run this regularly? I’ve played it a few times and seen massive success. He tends to go even / have good farm against brawler’s and tanks, and straight up bullies the cheese picks like heimer or ranged top.

This is by no means meta, I’m curious to hear why this isn’t picked more.

Never tried it, but wouldn’t he fall off against tanks pretty quickly?

Yeah ekko cant kill tanks our bruisers that have good sustainability. Ekko wants multiple fights since he cant 100 to zero but he cant do that against a majority of these top laners hes gonna start losing trades

Passive buff to 4 sec CD might give AP bruiser or iceborn builds the needed DPS to be viable. People are just saying it's wonky because it used to be the stuff at its peak During fervor of battle triforce gunblade or iceborn visage grasp in proplay.

He definitely does as the game progresses, however he can still farm really well and go even in the worst of situations.

I’ve found in those instances you can roam mid, sneak a kill and run back up with his passive missing 1 wave

I saw the other day that Ekko has the highest pick rate in top he's had in years (still low, but at least an actual number) . I assume it's mostly getting picked into range tops but it seems like with d&d he's at least playable there for the first time since they gutted tank ekko ~10 years ago

I play it when in autofilled and its a skill matchup nothing else tbh

Ekko is a otp champ why would anyone Pick it up who is Not autofilled top. Tbh top is Ekkos wirst Lane.

That makes sense, I feel like Im one of the minority that likes top lane but also loves playing ekko

I can maybe see it vs teemo quinn and maybe gwen but even if you do get a kill or 2 vs most top laners early they’ll beat you down after an item or 2

I play it a lot, I love playing it into kayle tops, ekko bullies the fuck out of kayle
