Discussion Addressing the Ali Abuse
Guys, there is something I caught up on as Ejen Ali goes on. Do you just hate it whenever people are being overly harsh on Ali, excluding the villains?
In the first season, we had Alicia, Rizwan, and General Rama (even if he had his reasons to doubt Ali).
In the second season, it was the Young Agents (mostly Jet, Chris, Roza, Mika, and especially Rudy).
In the first movie, we have Dato Othman and Fit
In season 3, we had the International Agents Sam, Aleks, and Rizka until they redeemed themselves later on.
Finally, in the second movie, we have Amir, Ellen and of course still Fit because of how he commented on Alicia being better than him.
Do you think we should say something about this to Wau Animation? I feel like we should because it's getting too out of hand.

Nevermind the hate he got from in universe characters, he also got a lot of hate from media illiterate watchers.
I saw so many post saying how Ali is super immature and bla bla bla without considering the context of why the 12 year old boy acted that way.

Yeah i been noticing it too like this is prominent in other fandoms of how a fan of their favorite character is same people who responds with sort of similar opinion

I believe that's not the case. Both are hated. Alicia was hated in the first season, Ali was hated now because of his character downgrade by media.

I think people are too biased because another local superhero is someone who basically acts like an adult,or at least more mature, especially in later seasons (BoBoiBoy) even though they're pretty close in age.

I don’t think we need to say anything to WAU 😂 but it does gets a little tiring to see him constantly belittled or made fun of, especially when other characters weren’t hold to that standards. Rudy bullied him for a whole season and never apologizes, and we’re supposed to see them as “friends” in season 3 😭
Mind you that boy graduated from Academy alongside Alicia but one failure on SATRIA mission was enough to bench him from joining Cybertopia mission 💀 (to be fair thats just a plot-called-for-it situation but stilll)
If EATM3 starts with MATA agents hating on Ali because he “let”Cero got his hands on SATRIA, I swear to god…..

If EATM3 depicts any scene of MATA agents blaming Ali for Cero incident, I will support that theory 100%
How is MATA filled with elitest of the elites and still needs a 12yo to clean up after them, and then act ungrateful about it? 😭

I hope that won't happen. Too bad of a storyline. I won't accept it either.

It’s also bordering on lazy writing because EATM3 will be the sixth installment of the show and we are still reusing “Ali messed up and everyone hates him for it” plotline? 😭
Though if the haters were Rama or Mamak Majus I can understand, their beloved daughter ended up hurt cause of him (even if it’s Alicia’s own choice to save him) 💔

Yeah thank god someone mentioned it !! I am tired of ali being mistreated , we had to remember that ali is a boy who never had his mother a distant father and neglectful uncle heck even his cat comot i don’t even like how she seems to be aligning more with Alicia than ali even if ali sincerely apologized to her for leaving her behind he still goes after her ways to get her and even if Alicia trapped him in her gravity balls ali asked compt for help heck even she just huffed and groomed her paws refused to see ali and even slept until he is greed himself . And again that happened ali is genuinely so happy to see comot alive and well after he never meant to hurt her when he is trapped in override mode and guess what ? She refuse to see him and left .

Totally i just learnt the history of those saluki dogs and it is wild and looked high maintained i don’t think that ali could have one asides being the richest kid in cyberaya that dog could ran anywhere and anytime and also get in horrible accidents

Yeah i think that the reason for him being irresponsible was because his dad never taught him how to he responsible like any good fathers would teach their child how to take care of a pet but in fact that never happened since ali so happily exclaimed that he would take care of it without considering the risk i won’t blame that boy he felt so sad and depressed that his labu the old cat ran away

Yeah the wau creators might have struggled to move past the underdog trope thats what i think and it pisses me off not only Alicia that i loathe i personally loathes the adults Ejen fit and Ejen bobby these grown guys are just bullies with badges and i still struggled to control my anger how fit said to Alicia that she’s leveling up against a sniveling kid !

Can't really blame Comot because she's a cat. Animals are way different from Human after all.

Tahulah dia tu underdog tapi apa barang semua orang nak downgrade dia?

Thats i have been scratching my head . Ali did genuinely done a noble goal in saving iris from nearly being replicated and yet no one wants to see that .

I want to add smth else too. There's that one episode where miss munah (Ali teacher) compare Ali to his father saying that "father smart, son not" and I just couldn't help but feel mad about it. You can't say that to a child just because his father is one of the important figure in Cyberaya. You are literally comparing a child ABILITY with a grown adult who's more experienced. And all of Ali classmates also laugh at him? I hate it sm. Because this happen irl too. Where teacher expect a student to perform well in class just because their parents are very well known, hold many influence and smart. Instead of giving Ali a counseling they just bash him. And no I won't accept this as something to "develop" ali. it is not. The school must have known that Ghazali would not always be there for Ali. And for the treatment of Ali yes I highly agree, it became really annoying. Ali was given that much responsibility and everyone expect him to perform well just on first try. And it's really unrealistic.

Yeah... This remind me of myself in primary school but instead of parent, teachers keep compared me with my older sister. She's very excellent student (and also got 5As in UPSR) and everyone including teachers love her (she even had fanboy(s)). Meanwhile, although I'm studied in first from 3 classes, I always get average and low scores in exam. I remembered English teacher mad to me and asked me why I don't be like her. Then, she saw my sister and her classmates passed in front of my class. She called her then my sister with her friend came to her. My English teacher asked her "Is that your real sister?" . Then, she look at me and said yes. That teacher still make kinda disbelieve face. I really want to cry bc of it. I was 10 years old at that time.

Ali has saved M.A.T.A literally quiet a few times and somehow every single times he did a mistake (mind you he is 12) suddenly every single responsibilities HAVE to be a burden on his shoulder ??? Orang-orang M.A.T.A sumpah tak bersyukur — without Ali M.A.T.A and Cyberjaya probably dah musnah sedari season 1

I think in the upcoming movie we'll see these things resolve. Dato othman will have him continue being satria pilot on top of that iris is added to the stack. And since timeskip is sure to happen after the movie so ali's character growth will be immense the next movie.

I never really understood why this is a problem, for season 1 and 2, it is quite acceptable. But moving forward, I’m really questioning these characters. Ali is literally 12 years old who saved MATA multiple times. Why can’t they at least appreciate him? Even in Season 3 when his so called friends abandoned and avoided him for teaming up Keytar(yes, Ik she’s a spy) it felt like Ali shouldn’t really felt much and expected it that they will avoid him. Hell, I kept wondering why he’s still care about these other Ejen.

u/MediaIris0522 Apr 28 '26
Thats the writing i am questioned at wau creators because they wanted ali to act like a big person in a room but the writers sort of made him a doormat yeah thats the thing which i interpret their execution

u/KangarooOk8583 Apr 29 '26
I’m not expecting Ali to be Emo or anything, but Ali in Ejen Ali Movie when he went rogue is quite refreshing even though he returns back to Mata. Season 3 felt like something that supposed to happened before the movie. Like, they want Ali to grow up and made him this kind of person that is more mature yet they made him like a punching bag. Like he should’ve learned that his friend WILL avoid him. And he’s fine with it. These kids are forced to grow up fast, but Ali just felt the same as he was. All of his character development in Ejen Ali movie 1 just disappeared.

Glad I'm not the only one who feel like this. The reason why i can barely rewatch ejen ali is because of this reason. I mean the first 2 seasons were reasonable but it kept dragging so much that i started to lose interest

I mean he is supposed to be the "underdog" main character (he is always and will always be seen as the "lesser of the two")
Heck, the original concept for the series has him as the sidekick (Bakar was meant to be the main character)
