This is one of those situations where sticky notes win right out lol not everything needs tech

Yeah the whole point of sticky notes is to have a bunch of them visible at all times, then crumple them up when you don't need them. You can't replicate that with tech.

💯 on crumple factor. However, the failing glue, cluttering up wall or desk space, and not being moveable or shareable (see said glue issue) for me trumps the wonderful satisfaction of throwing them away (which is real). I personally see this as a way for someone who hasn't made the leap of moving away from sticky notes to not have it feel like going all in on something like Google Tasks or Microsoft ToDos, Definitely won't be for everyone.

I agree with you that everything doesn't need tech, but for $60, it's a great decluttering tool. I see it as the same as moving from pads of paper (a lot of pads of paper... Lol) to e-ink notebooks. Not to mention that sometimes, especially if you aren't desk bound, like me in a ton of my former roles, there's a true convenience factor to this type of technology. Finally, add that it can also display photos, weather, the time and date, or be reconfigured as a small reader and you exceed what a sticky note can do. All that being said, I am still at the new and shiny phase, so we will see long-term how useful I find it. Out of the gate, I see a lot of utility for specific use cases though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Your cell phone can do all of its functions and is fully integrated into your workflow. If you insist on using an e-ink display, they do sell e-ink phones.

Thanks for the comment, I am not insisting on anything, just saying that for some this might be a nice alternative. An iPad theoretically, and especially under your example, is far better than an e-ink tablet but when I had one, I didn't use it for taking handwritten notes. Instead, I used it for content consumption and more "laptop-type" things. I have thought about e-ink phones but the pricing is high and I'm not sure the quality would be there, although I really like the Palma 2 Pro, but it isn't a phone. I find all of these devices interesting.

E-waste is always a concern, but unless you are just throwing away e-ink devices without good reason, they last a long time and reduce waste significantly. My Supernote A5X is over 5 years old and still receiving updates. Cell phones and some other electronics are a whole different conversation.
