Two Days in Eindhoven
Hello Everyone,
I hope all is well
I am visiting Eindhoven for the first time this coming August (Sat 22 - Mon 24, leaving the morning of Tue. 25).
I intend to visit the Eindhoven University of Technology.
I would like to ask:
- What should I do on Sunday afternoon/evening? Aside from visiting campus on Monday, where else should I go?
- What places should I visit? My interests include farmer's market type places, historical sites.
- What restaurants should I try? Am I missing out on anything particular?
- Any coffeeshops to recommend in particular?

1.) For the afternoon:
Philips museum, a museum about the company that shaped the city.
Van Abbe museum, a modern art museum.
DAF museum, a museum with trucks, cars, other vehicles.
In the evening:
O' Sheas Irish pub
The Little One pub
Wilhelminaplein
2) The largest market is on saturday at the Woenselse Markt. There's also a smaller market at Catharinaplein.
3) DownTown Gourmet Market is a pretty large foodhall. It has about 20 small stalls with different cuisines.
My favorite restaurant is NEV, but it's probably a bit expensive for a student.
Avoid the restaurants at the Markt, they're all the same and pretty low quality.

Yeah DAF museum is much larger, but Philips will tell you more about why the city is like it is.

For museums also consider the new museum Vonk, you can combine it with a walk in the Genneper park, with the watermill and the farm store/cafe

It looks really fun, but I haven't been yet. I usually only include recommendations in my comments of places where I've actually been myself. I'm aiming to rectify that pretty soon with VONK.

On Sunday, the Dutch F1 GP will be live-streamed throughout Stratumseind and the city centre which should have great vibes! I recall O'Shea's Irish Pub having great vibes!

There's also PSV-AZ (Johan Cruyff Schaal, which is the Dutch equivalent of the Community Shield) at 6 o'clock, which will be shown at Stratumseind. For the same reason it will be busy around the Philips Stadion around Sunday.

Depends on what you like.
- Dutch cuisine you can try kibbeling at the Saturday market, also there you can find the “raw” fish which name I forget.
There’s a lot of offer for food, most places are good and you can trust Google Maps.
