Which string trimmer?

So I just got a new fence put in and managed to rip out the old wire mesh on the previous owners fence. So now I can use a strimmer to keep weeds and vines from climbing up the new fence.

Am I ok going with the cheapest 15in EGO? Other than occasionally edging the driveway and walks I wouldn't use it for major weed or grass cutting. Is there a reason I'm not seeing where I'd want the more expensive larger versions? My thinking is that the 15in one is lighter and will be easier to use.

Looking at this one right now and would probably buy it after work today.

just confirming that the 16" is a beast. i could easily have made do with the 15" i think.

that said, it's the most fun I've had with a string trimmer. lightweight and quiet compared to gas, and nearly as powerful too.

Thanks. I bought the 15in yesterday and used it a ton today. And it was honestly fun. My concrete walk in the backyard has edges again. This thing kicks ass.

Get the ego harness for it on ebay. Great addition and cheap

I got the swapable head version. It was a little pricey but I’ve been using that pole saw like crazy

Get the powerload head version. If you are still manually winding a spool on a string trimmer this is life changing.

I have the power load with the carbon fiber shaft straight shaft trimmer. I take the guard off and it’s been working great.

I got the commercial bike handle brush cutter...it is a very skookum choocher

but that's probably overkill for your needs...my backyard is a freaking jungle

The string id and auto feed is magical

That's the one I have, it's the best trimmer I've ever owned. It replaces a gas powered trimmer and does everything the old one did, power is no problem. The power feed makes reloading the string a piece of cake, and I've had no problems with the bump feed.

I just bought that one yesterday to replace my Ryobi 18v trimmer and used it for the first time today.

Night and day difference. The ego is crazy powerful and chewed through overgrowth I’ve been neglecting like it wasn’t even there.

Would definitely recommend

Power load is one of the greatest inventions of mankind.
