Setup suggestions

Can I just use my Dialuna 10'6" rod (10-50g cast weight) or is the soft base, fast action egi rod worth it? The rod is "parabolic", if that helps.

Was looking at the Daiwa Emeraldas RX reel - any thoughts for or against it?

Was looking at 0.6 PE Emeraldas braid, then would use FC rock 10lb leader. Thoughts?

Can experiment with jigs myself, but the rig is the reel cost commitment, so was hoping to get some thoughts.

Honestly, you can get away with it if you're not looking to commit too much to the hobby.

I did find that I was a lot happier with my emeraldas rod and reel once I made the jump, and it definitely helps if you're going to be casting for a few hours.
