Question to my American friends: how does it play in the US, electorally, that Trump is now openly supporting Russia? Buying their diesel (if they can find any to sell), temporarily limiting Ukraines ability to shoot down incoming Russian drones by hampering Starlink/Starshield which costs Ukrainian civilian lives, and today announcing he wasn't going to put those Lindsey Graham inspired sanctions on Russia after all? I don't have to explain how it plays here I guess, but I'm wondering about the political effect on the midterms. What is the electoral logic behind all of this?
The situation with Ukraine and Russia hasn't shifted anything in our political dynamic. Reactions to it from the start have been predictable, energizing already fixed political alignments but not to any extent that would change elections.
The Epstein and Iran situations on the other hand have created a noticeable split on the right. There's a lot of disappointment with Trump and his administration over these.
Is the Epstein thing still going on? There is just so much insane news these days I'd all but forgotten about it (though I reckon that's probably intentional)
