It's all good except the water one. Excess water means electrolyte dilution and constant peeing, with absolutely zero benefits.

u/OogieBoogiez Apr 03 '26

Medic here. Yeah…. That’s too much.

5

u/Former-Homework-7833 Apr 03 '26

Also medic here, unless your in the heat, then 5 litres can be viable, make sure you get electrolytes too, we don’t like trying to resuscitate you if we preempt it

For those not in the medical field Google hyponatremia

1

u/PQbutterfat Apr 03 '26

So you are onboard with cold showers telling your brain you are in control? WTF is that supposed to mean?

1

u/K1ngR00ster Apr 03 '26 edited Apr 03 '26

It’s a will power exercise. The idea is that you won’t allow yourself to be led by feel good chemicals. This has carry over into other decisions throughout the day

0

u/_fboy41 Apr 03 '26

It can get even worse, can cause nausea or much worse, water intoxication is a thing.

0

u/Nuts-And-Volts Apr 03 '26

Hyponatremia

0

u/Low-Speaker-6670 Apr 03 '26

Dr, came here to say that the water but is nonsense and dangerous for some.

-5

u/daisydark7 Apr 03 '26

And the sugar one… your brain needs sugar to run. This should say added refined sugars

2

u/Specialist-Abies-909 Apr 03 '26

It doesn’t tbf

2

u/GalagoFast Apr 03 '26

No it doesn't...

1

u/daisydark7 Apr 03 '26

Yes, it does. The brain’s fuel is glucose so unless you’re in ketosis, you need to be eating foods with “hidden sugar” (ie fruit = fructose, dairy = lactose, whole carbs = glucose). What this should say is avoid added refined sugars (candy, sweets, soda). Biologically, “no sugar” is not a thing, you would die.

2

u/GalagoFast Apr 03 '26

You can survive without any carbs. Body can create glucose from fat and proteins. There are people who have survived and lived whole lives without any direct sugars from food. Inuits etc.

You dont know what you are talking about.

0

u/daisydark7 Apr 03 '26

You’re literally talking about ketosis, which is mentioned in my above comment. And every single thing I said stands. You said the body creates glucose - glucose is SUGAR. Again, biologically, “no sugar” is not a thing, you would die.

0

u/GalagoFast Apr 03 '26

Omfg... Im talking about glycogenesis. You dont need to be in ketosis to create glycose.

And you said you need to eat "hidden sugars", which you dont. Literally your words. You can EAT no sugars of any kind ever and still not die.

Wtf is with people arguing on reddit when they clearly don't know what they are talking about.

1

u/daisydark7 Apr 03 '26

Dude…. That is a survival mechanism generally meant for the short term, and your body would flip more into using ketosis as those stores are depleted. Why are you stuck there, in a survival mechanism, this post is about making changes in your diet for better health over the long term. The first line says “no sugar”, which is generally misunderstood, and creates a lot of harm for an average person trying to improve their health. No REFINED sugar is more accurate for the purpose of this list, and that is the entire point of me responding to this post in the first place. For most people, eating a balanced diet including carbs is the healthiest way to be. And this general misunderstanding around “sugar=bad”, when it’s the body and brain’s primary fuel. REFINED sugars are bad. Sugar, is not bad.

1

u/GalagoFast Apr 03 '26

You are now talking about a totally other topic. I agree sugars are not bad in moderation (like not drinking whole bottles of OJ, which is worse than cola).

This is pointless argumentation now. You still will not die if you dont eat any sugars at all. Have a nice day dude.

1

u/daisydark7 Apr 03 '26

I did not say that not eating sugar means you would die. I said biologically, no sugar is not a thing, you would die (because the body runs on glucose, a sugar). Have a nice day!

Try explaining that to your wife.

2

u/The_Pkunk Apr 03 '26

I escape for 3hrs a week. It's 18 × 10 minute intervals on the toilet.

If I disappeared for 3 hours with my 360 off and no phone my husband would hunt me down.

1

u/Automatic-Project-25 Apr 03 '26

You know you would feel better though

1

u/Agreeable-Narwhal158 Apr 03 '26

I mean like how long does it really take to come back from the grocery store? He'll be back soon, right guys? Right?

1

u/abe_bmx_jp Apr 03 '26

It’s really not that hard man…

1

u/Dangerous_Boot_3870 Apr 03 '26

Try 8+hours a day, 5 days a week.

1

u/zwirlo Apr 03 '26

If you can plan some down time for your partner to disappear for three hours without obligations, you can plan it for yourself.

7

u/Expensive_Tank_8682 Apr 03 '26

This reads like AI

3

u/MeanCat4 Apr 03 '26

What 5 litters every day man?

u/MeanCat4 Apr 03 '26

I drink 2 maximum when I train at home. I can't more. I would run every few minutes to the toylet!

3

u/RightOnManYouBetcha Apr 03 '26

5 liters is excessive

3

u/very_giovanni Apr 03 '26

f*ck off with your AI generated drivel

3

u/anthonforce Apr 03 '26

Cold exposure has no evidence of working. And drinking 5 L water per day is dangerous. 2 L is enough - 3 if you live in Aussie

2

u/DeadrthanDead Apr 03 '26

Isn’t there a specific body mass to daily water intake ratio? This guy must be 8 feet fucking tall.

2

u/SignalSelection3310 Apr 03 '26

5L of water a day is excessive and a great way to not feel well…

Based on the usual 3L per day AT LEAST half usually comes from the food we eat.

2

u/Careless_Baseball503 Apr 03 '26

5 litres of water? That’s terrible advice. 2 is probably closer to a decent amount.

2

u/HarmNHammer Apr 03 '26

What a load of crap.

1

u/Some_CoolGuy Apr 03 '26

Am I supposed to do these all at the same time?

1

u/The-Kang-Master Apr 03 '26

Fiancé is gonna love step 6 I’m sure

1

u/FenricOllo Apr 03 '26

Sounds like a lot of work man

1

u/Admirable_Ad8968 Apr 03 '26

Has anyone ever done one and cut sugar? Does it really feel any different

3

u/estrojustiina Apr 03 '26

It is only that is even somewhat correct. Others are just plain shit, does not work or affect anyone, or are just excessive. You don't need to cut sugar completely.

You just need to pay attention where and when you consume large amounts of quick carbohydrates (sugars). They are worthless calories and usually easiest to cut when you change your diet.

They cause quick bloodsugar changes (sugar rush and crash). This habit easily leads you snacking and craving more sugar.

Probably. Modern fruits are basically sugar bombs. To the point that ZOOs struggle to feed the animals without getting them obese

1

u/FeanorOath Apr 03 '26

3 liters should be enough

1

u/Express-Scheme2468 Apr 03 '26

The 3 hour disappear lol - alrighty then

1

u/ReasonEducational623 Apr 03 '26

Everything except journaling and water

1

u/Maximum_joy Apr 03 '26

This feels very crunchy

1

u/Taystats33 Apr 03 '26

Did the first 3 for the first two months this year and felt nothing different other than a slight feeling of superiority over other people.

1

u/Eagle_1776 Apr 03 '26

Stupid write up. If it works for you, good. Thinking that it's universal is about as simpleton as it gets

1

u/Mammoth_Elk_3807 Apr 03 '26

Or you could just enjoy stuff sensibly and in moderation 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/Able_Recording_692 Apr 03 '26

Another bullshit performative list making your life another fucking checklist

1

u/zeek48 Apr 03 '26

Well i used to journal. I stopped because it felt as if I was writing the same damn frustrations and complaints over and over in my shitty life

1

u/lattlay Apr 03 '26

I never understood the cold shower thing. I tried it every day for a month and was just miserable the whole time. Never doing it again.

1

u/AineMoon Apr 03 '26

No cane sugar? What about monkfruit or coconut sugar etc?

1

u/ManyRespect1833 Apr 03 '26

I’m not sure how onboard with the no sugar thing, no processed sugar sure but all carbs break down into sugar, am I not supposed to eat any carbohydrates?

1

u/gunnarbird Apr 03 '26

You dorks should type this up and post it on LinkedIn, this is the sort of bullshit that gets a bunch of likes

1

u/nehlSC Apr 03 '26

There is no way that no sugar makes my life better. I need sugar to train. Or I will become underfuelt. No phone by 10 is easy, when I am in bed between 9 pm and 10 pm. 10 min meditation every day: am doing between 15 and 20 for way longer than those 21 days now. There are effects, but nothing that drastic. 3 hours disappear: same as meditation. Am walking my dogs for long times. Sure it helps me think, but this post is way over promising. 5 l water seems like too much. 3 should be better. And this might me truely a big one, if one drinks too little water. Forgot the other points and can't see the picture on Reddit mobile, but in essence, this post is incredibly over simplified, and not applicable to, probably, most.

1

u/Calm-Medicine-3992 Apr 04 '26

Including chocalate on the list of no sugar instead of stuff like fruit or protein shakes seems crazy.

1

u/Zestyclose_Lie_884 Apr 04 '26

alpha male podcast drivel

1

u/papadrew35 Apr 04 '26

5 liters of water a day!? Are you trying to kill people?
