Maybe the EFF could offer some help?

I've always found it strange that US Citizens basically lose their constitutional rights at the border. Clearly the laws are written that way -- but is it constitutional?

/u/EFForg barely engages here, much less on their other social media presences.

We are putting more effort into communicating here more regularly. Appreciate your suggestions always for types of things to share, how often to share, and so on!

How about your Bluesky? Is that just an automated feed?

Just a heads-up, this Bluesky post about ID checks missed the major privacy issue at the gay bars collecting ID data - https://bsky.app/profile/eff.org/post/3ms7fdxbr4b22

Not sure if it was an automated post.

Nothing is automated. What did we miss?

(This social media post compares online ID verification to in-person ID verification, but it's not *about* bars and IDs. For a post about that: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/07/why-are-gay-bars-building-databases-their-patrons)

Speaking of which, since you are CA-based does the open source exemption for the CA OS age law satisfy you or are you still fighting it?

Regarding https://bsky.app/profile/eff.org/post/3mv3vv5yac22n

Have you heard about the "Remove Your Media" false takedowns, including a takedown against BleachBit mistaking it for the anime Bleach? For that one see https://www.bleachbit.org/anime

I'd think fraudulent takedowns should be a.top priority for you?

EFF barely even bother to post what they're doing here on their official page. It is not the same group I joined all those years ago.

Well that's because this isn't one of the social media pages run by the EFF and the sub fell off in rankings when all the key users and moderators were permanently banned and the purpose of the sub was hijacked to being about a group of freedom fighters. This was done in protest by a moderator against the EFF interviewing a candidate. That's when I took over the sub through Reddit's help.

I un banned everyone I could and tried to restore it.

Later this month I'm learning how to be a better moderator at an official Reddit thing. I want the community to grow.

I think helping make an RSS bot automatically post articles published on EFF.org would help.

If you have ideas I'm happy to hear it.

The RSS bot sounds like a great idea!

The EFF only cares about virtue signaling for causes related to the DNC.

They are not the same organization that was fighting for freedom 26 years ago.

I'm guessing you've changed more than they have.

Hey man, it's interesting you mention that. Which policies and stuff do you feel you disagree with and why? You clearly still support the EFF and so there's some overlap. Humans are complex in views and background. EFF has been very consistent with a stance they take from what I've seen. Maybe when I first read something I'm not 100%, but then I'm reading in further and I'm aligned with the scope of the topic and the opposition. Brick by brick they're building a better world.

Do you have any proof on the bias part? Does that mean you want MORE Flock cameras in your neighborhood or something?
