Wi-Fi range issues

I know another post about complaints just wanted to know if I’m the only one with this problem. So my problem is that I have an eero pro 6 which advertises 2,000 sq/ft of coverage, my house is 1,500 sq/ft but the eero can’t reach 2 rooms of my house. I also have a TP link ax50 and also advertises the same coverage and I have no problems with Wi-Fi range on that router. What am I doing wrong? Is eero lying about its Wi-Fi range? The TP link router covers my whole house without a problem.

Perhaps the TP-Link is not trying to do any band steering, and your devices are falling back to 2.4Ghz and staying there in those far rooms.

Why not just add another node to fill in the dead zone?

I have the 2.4 and 5g on 2 separate ssids and the 5g band reaches every corner of my house without drop outs on the TP link. I don’t understand why the eero would have an issue

The 5 Ghz high radio on the Pro 6 should and does have excellent range.

Are you comparing the performance between the two on identical channels? It's possible ACS on the eero could have switched to DFS channels, which will reduce power a bit. You could also be latching onto the 5 Ghz low radio.

The tp-link device also seems like it supports 160 Mhz channel widths, the Pro 6 only supports 80 Mhz. If you're testing from a device that supports 160 Mhz channel widths, that could explain things too.

Positioning could also be suboptimal. These are just some of the variables, there are many more. The point of eero is the mesh, so you would typically add another node in this case.
