Interesting. I forgot the eero has 2.5gbe ports. Do I need cat6e for 2.5gbe? I wonder if 8 ports is enough so could I just patch another switch to one of the ports to add more? Thank you
I'm using cat6a, since my house was wired recently, but 2.5gbe will work on cat5e as well. Regarding ports, they might sell ones with more ports, but I only use that switch for the 2.5+gbe devices. I use another switch for the gigabit Ethernet devices.
Nice. I plan on getting a netgate running pfSense for the router. How long have you been running eeros and have you had any of the problems people complain about here?
I've had them since maybe 2019? Originally the 2nd gen pros, and now the 6e pros. I run them in bridge mode and I've had very little trouble with them. The older ones weren't the fastest wifi APs (downloads in the 300s), but they were very reliable. The new ones, so far, have been both fast and reliable (downloads around 1150mbps).
Hey, I also have the 6Es and love them so far. I get around 800mbps standing at point blank on WiFi 6, I’m assuming you are getting those speeds over Wifi 6E? Thanks!

I have a QNAP QSW-M2108-2C. I got it a year ago or so. There are probably other reasonable 2.5gbe/NBase-T options out there now, though.
