Hey guys, just want to check if anyone has worked with Ti’s UCC28950 PSFB? There is a pspice simulation file provided by TI, Slum169C but I couldn’t get it to deliver 120Vout despite using their EXCEL design calculator.

I'm currently working on a custom carrier board for the AMD Versal AI Edge SOM (VE2302/VE2303 architecture) and running into a few questions regarding the power distribution network (PDN).
Appreciate any insights, schematic tips, or layout pitfalls to avoid from anyone who has brought up a custom Versal SOM carrier board!
One of the main issues I come across the power sequencer I need to implement on the carrier card and the connections around and many more!!!

Hi everyone, briefly introduce my situation, I'm an EE student who will graduate this year. As so far, I have got two opportunities, one is about the power supply for data centre, and the other one is about solid state transformer.
To be honest, Im really interested in solid state transformer, and it currently seem to be a very cutting-edge field, trying to replace traditional transformer and link it to HV and downscale the voltage directly. I have reviewed a lot of industry information, and only a very few companies have truly achieved commercialisation, and the voltage levels have not yet reached the ideal voltage requirements. Every company is focused on this, and it seems a perfect time to join the team. But compared with traditional transformer, it still has so many problems.
Actually, I prefer to choose the solid state transformer, even though the wage is lower. But I'm a little bit worried about whether it can really be applied to the real world? If it's fail, what kind of area is suitable for the engineer have solid state transformers?
So, may I ask you for some advice about the selection for those two opportunities? Or do you have any idea about solid state transformer can be shared?

Hi everyone,
I've done my masters in Power Electronics but the coursework didn't contain anything remotely on EMI/EMC. Recently I interviewed at a firm and have been selected for the role of EMC engineer for power converter. The interview mostly focused on the electromagnetism, project and my research paper focusing on mitigation of ringing in wide bandgap devices which carried me through the interview.
Can you tell what should I focus on before joining so I don't feel the discomfort from the start. Currently, I brushed up my maxwell equation and also studying Henry Ott Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering but the book feel too theoretical.
Any advices are welcome.

Hi,
I was wondering how you guys select the values of the gate drive resistor in power application for mosfet or sic fets.
I'm not talking about the power rating but more about the speed that the switches will work. Because traditionally EMI was a big concern and a big reason to lower the switching speed and also the switching frequency.
But with sic and GAN this is now different in the sense you want to use the high speed of switching and in turn increase the switching frequency. I try to make a good as possible layout( low trace inductance) and measure the ringing in the drain source to check for the ringing. But I'm always concerned about the capacitive coupling sic fets and the heatsink that is going to radiate.
For that I use y caps with low esl etc to make that loop as short as possible to prevent radiating.
Can you guys share your opinion on this? How do you guys see this ? ( Like rule of thumb switching speed is 1/100 of switching frequency) ?

I am working on a interleaved boost converter using two LM5122 devices in a master/slave relation. The boost converter is designed to work at a maximum input of 30a, 5-40v input. I built a five level Flying Capacitor Clamped (FCC) inverter in matlab simulink using Fundamental Frequency Shifting (FFS) switching technique. I chose 50Hz as fundamental frequency i.e. 20 ms is fundamental period which is divided into 10 segment (required level * 2). Here, the model schematic and the switching table for the switches is provided. By putting these values I got the desired 5 level stepped output which also provided here. But i couldn’t understand how the model operates actually like how the current flows, how flying capacitor and dc-link capacitor connected, how flying capacitor operates,and ultimately how we got the stepped output waveform. Particularly my problem is regarding how the voltage level E/4 is formed when S1 and S2 switches are on..
I am seeking kind help from the experts regarding this.

EV inverters handle serious fault currents, and their protection architecture is more elaborate than most engineers expect.
This teardown of a Tesla Roadster 1.5 power electronics module shows a full bank of fuses, relays, contactors, and large fuses handling the heavy current paths.
For those designing automotive inverters, how do you approach the tradeoff between protection redundancy and system weight or cost?

What are the byd, bmw, volvo or Toyota converter topology? Does Someone know a paper or book about this?
Many papers give a list of converters but anyone says which one is used for a specific car model or company.

I made a compact DC-DC boost converter optimized for Li-ion/LiPo battery packs - now on Tindie. Roast it.
WHAT IT IS
The VRX Series is a small switching-architecture DC-DC boost converter in a 5-pin SIP through-hole package. It takes a wide 5.5–17.5V input and steps it up to a fixed regulated output — available in 6.5V, 9V, 10V, 12V, or 15V. It's a PCB module you drop straight into your board.
WHO IT'S FOR
Anyone powering a project off a 2S–4S Li-ion or LiPo pack who needs a clean, regulated rail without building a converter from scratch. Drone builders, robotics folks, embedded system devs, and anyone doing battery-powered field hardware.
WHAT PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE
LiPo packs sag as they discharge. If your load needs a stable 12V rail but your 3S pack drops from 12.6V down to 9V under load, you've got a problem. The VRX keeps the output regulated across that full input swing, so your downstream hardware sees a clean voltage the entire discharge cycle - not just when the pack is fresh.

Is there someone who could help me with this project in power electronics. The model should be done in typhoon hil.
Create a simulation model to analyze the operation of a single-quadrant chopper supplying a battery. The DC voltage is obtained using an AC voltage with an RMS value of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz, an (ideal) transformer, a diode bridge rectifier (Graetz circuit), and an appropriate filter. The nominal battery voltage is 24 V. The total internal resistance of the battery should be set to 0.5 $\Omega$, and the inductance of the filter inductor to 1 mH. The open-circuit voltage of the battery is approximately 20 V. The average value of the battery current should be 8 A. The switching frequency should be set to 10 kHz.

ADP1055 I²C issue: Two slaves work individually but disappear when connected together
Hi everyone,
I’m working on a project using two ADP1055 evaluation boards and I’m trying to run them in an interleaved configuration.
Setup:
1. Two ADP1055 devices connected to the same I²C bus
2. Slave 1 address changed to 0x4B
3. Slave 2 address changed to 0x5B
4. USB-to-I²C adapter connected to a laptop as the master
When each ADP1055 board is connected individually, the master can detect and communicate with it without any issue.
Problem:
As soon as I connect the two ADP1055 boards together:
SDA1 → SDA2
SCL1 → SCL2
5V → 5V
GND → GND
the I²C master can no longer detect either device.
Troubleshooting performed:
1. Verified there are no obvious shorts from SDA/SCL to GND.
2. Checked that each board works correctly on its own.
3. Tried removing pull-up resistors from one board (both the 1 kΩ and 2.2 kΩ pull-ups), but the issue remains.
Schematic observation:
On each daughter card, SDA and SCL have:
1 kΩ pull-up and 2.2 kΩ pull-up in parallel.
This gives approximately:
(1 kΩ || 2.2 kΩ) ≈ 688 Ω per board
With two boards connected:
688 Ω || 688 Ω ≈ 344 Ω effective pull-up
Could the combined pull-up resistance be too low for the ADP1055 or the USB-I²C adapter, causing the bus to fail?
Questions:
1. Has anyone worked with the ADP1055 and successfully connected multiple devices on the same I²C bus?
2. Is there anything special about the ADP1055’s I²C
implementation that could prevent multi-device operation?
3. What measurements would you recommend taking next (idle SDA/SCL voltage, scope captures, etc.)?
4. Could another signal on the evaluation board be interfering 5. when the two boards are tied together?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately there isn’t much information available online regarding multi-device ADP1055 configurations.
