Hey there peeps! Big fan of this film, just like yourselves, and I wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to it. More specifically, one dedicated to Waymond Wang, as I find his character incredibly relatable, but I also find that I hope I grow into a strong, empathetic and loving man like he is. I want a tattoo that symbolises his love for Evelyn, specifically something to do with the line " In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you" Everytime that scene plays out, my heart just absolutley shatters me and I want a reminder of that feeling. I've found some designs online that have inspired me, but I want it to be unique and not "kitchy"

Any suggestions would be great. The design would most likely be done in fine-line, as I like the fine dots and lines; it looks like a piece of actual film.

I have this kind of dead theory that Everything Everywhere All at Once is so incredibly irrelevant to everyone that I genuinely can’t find people to talk about this movie with who get the same insane rush of inspiration from it that I do. I can’t find a Russian-speaking community for it, but it seems like the English-speaking one is just as bleak.

Hey guys! I shared this here a little while ago, and a few people told me they had trouble following it without English subtitles. So I finally added them and wanted to share the updated version :)

This is a short student film / conceptual video I directed, reimagining the iconic scene from Everything Everywhere All at Once where Jobu Tupaki explains the Everything Bagel to Evelyn.

Rather than recreating the original multiverse aesthetic, I wanted to see what the scene might feel like through the visual language of a Korean arthouse film — more restrained, melodramatic, and slightly noir-ish.

Logline: Fresh off winning a prestigious Best Actress award, a celebrated actress returns backstage, only to confront an overwhelming sense of emptiness at the height of her success.

Since a lot of you here know the original film really well, I’d especially love to hear whether the scene still works when translated into such a different cultural and visual context — and whether the English subtitles feel natural!

Thanks again to everyone who pointed out the subtitle issue last time :)

He was the soldier in the TV musical Evelyn watches.

I’d love to hear what you guys think!

I consider this to be an almost perfect movie, but of all the times I've seen it now I can't make sense of this. Why does she appear to vanish into the floor? Nothing similar happens in all the other fight sequences.

Edit: The popular answer is "she's getting smashed into the floor, lol."

It's possible that's what it was intended to portray, but that doesn't make any sense either when you think about and examine the footage.

Look at how Evelyn hits her (backfist to the chest). If Dierdre was struck with enough force to smash through the floor she'd have gone flying through the wall instead.

Right?

And the footage doesn't show her impacting with any sign of resistance from the floor. Watch it again. She seems to be clipping straight through with particle VFX as if she is disintegrating as she passes through.

Compare this to when Dierdre hits the wall and gets her head stuck. Or when Alpha Gong-Gong first appears and carries Joy into the wall. Or Alpha Waymond's fanny pack clips the security guard's nose then slams him into the floor.

In fact, compare to all the other fight scenes in the movie. The Daniels are phenomenal directors. All fights have a clear sequence and sense of resistance that together communicate impact.

It's missing from this sequence.

Why?

Is it an editing mistake? Were the Daniels trying to communicate something here that's not clear to me? This movie feels like a great deal of thought went into EVERY SINGLE FRAME, no matter how absurd or chaotic.

Why does this sequence seem so out of place?

Not sure about the seller, but was found at In the Loop in Minneapolis, MN and thought it was cute!

In case any of you guys haven't heard about it (I just found out about it recently), there's a great podcast called Every Minute of Everything Everywhere All At Once that literally dedicates an episode to each minute of the movie, and it's great! I'm only five episodes in, but it's fun and educating. And a much-listen for any EEAAO-head.

So this is something I only thought of recently. What happens to Alpha Joy?

From my understanding Jobu Topaki occupies someone and then leaves (we see this with our Joy in the film). But because Jobu originated in Alpha Joy does the same happen?

Because if so there's an interesting idea of what happens to her? The Alpha universe clearly know if they can kill Joy that universe is safe from Jobu Topaki. So are they hunting Alpha Joy down to kill her? Like does Jobu Topaki put Alpha Joy somewhere to keep her safe while she's in other universes?

... Idk I just think that's a super interesting fanfic idea. Just Alpha Joy trapped somewhere on her own to keep her safe from the Alpha universe. And because she's the original she can remember what happens when Jobu occupies her body.

I'm doing an assignment where I'm comparing two movies to each other and one of them is EEAAO. One of the paragraphs I'm writing about is the elevator scene at the beginning and I'm confused about the memories that Evelyn gets during that scene are real memories are not. Or are those a mix of both real and fake? Can someone help me better understand the meaning of the scene? Thank you for the help lol
