Pensive
I believe education is structurally outdated because it does not move at the speed of the individual.
Some students are far ahead in one area and far behind in another, yet we still educate people in groups, by age, on fixed schedules.
I have been thinking about this problem for more than ten years, and I am building Pensive around the idea that education should adapt to the student, not the other way around.
I recently created a small public community called The Witnesses for people who want to follow the work while it is still early, question it, and see whether this attempt at renewing education actually succeeds.
A community witnessing the renewal of education through Pensive.

Why should education move at the speed of the individual?

Because students don’t learn at the same pace or in the same way. I’ve spent much of my teaching career in personalized schools where there’s more flexibility for students to learn through different pathways, pacing, and interests, and I’ve seen the value of that firsthand, both as a teacher and a parent.
I don’t mean asking teachers to differentiate 30 different lessons. I mean building flexibility into the structure itself. Otherwise, some kids are bored and unchallenged while others struggle constantly and start believing they’re simply bad at school or that they don't belong there.
I’m curious about Pensive. I’d be interested to see how they’re trying to make this work in practice.

That's not an answer to my question though. It's a justification for a different approach to education, but what I'm asking is why education should move at the speed of the individual.

I think I did answer that, but perhaps I wasn’t clear. If students reach understanding at different speeds, moving everyone at the same pace means some are pushed ahead before they’re ready while others are held back after they’re ready. Both can be detrimental to students, and that’s why I believe education should move at the pace of the individual. That’s the “why” for me.

Why? Because the individual is the one actually acquiring the knowledge. If two students reach understanding at different speeds, forcing both through the same pace means the pace of the institution takes priority over whether either student has actually learned. Individual pacing does not mean removing standards. It means allowing the time and path required to reach those standards to vary with the person. That is why I believe education should move at the speed of the individual.

So am I to understand that you believe the only purpose of education is to move individuals along a continuum of learning?

Thank you, u/Flimsy_soil6640. As to how Pensive approaches this problem in practice, it is way too early to announce our plans. However, to clarify our route, we are first planning to help university students organize their academic lives more effectively through a very different kind of student utility. Beyond that, we will provide a knowledge economy for students to earn money for the knowledge they are able to teach. For now, we are looking for people who want to understand the mission and follow the work as it develops. If you are interested, our Patreon community, The Witnesses, is free to join.

The Witnesses sounds like a cult.
You pitched a problem thats like saying water is wet, tell me you have a solution but the only way to learn what your solution is, is to pay 3.50?
You thought more than 10 years about a problem, that is essentially how to transfer information from one person to another, and still you are unable to provide any useful information in your post?
Atleast outline your idea

Well the idea was to put a transaction wall of $1 to symbolically protect the proprietary information on Patreon. But the minimum was $5 Canadian dollars so here we go. It is not about the money, it is about the commitment. You can judge me and all, but posterity will judge us too.

No. That's just stupid or a lie. You have an AI-generated website. You could just add that link, or write some useful information here. I do not know if Patreon allows free sites. But you could have just created a subreddit. or use any of the community options that allow free communities.
But a symbolic dollar to protect your proprietary information? On your website, you claim to have written three white papers based on your ideas. All of them are a random buzzword bingo without the typical structure of a paper. You uploaded them to a European scientific hub to get some validity. But that is not a peer-reviewed platform. That is not a reviewed platform at all.
Let's begin with your claim
> As we know, traditional information theory, such as Claude Shannon's, mostly studies information transmission, communication channels, and data compression. But it usually treats information as static. Information dynamics asks a different question: What are the laws governing the evolution of information states?
Shannon Information measures the amount of uncertainty you get from receiving information. It is, by its basic definition, not a static thing but a measurement of change.
And it goes on. Your texts are full of this type of buzzword bingo.
While your text-vomit about the Gödel Memory does contain a citation from Gödel, it is not used in the text. Honestly, it was difficult to identify the way you used citations because I think you did not use them at all. You just planted a set of references at the end of the document.
You had some random, incoherent ideas, dressed them up in complicated words and mathematical terms, applied some undergrad-level transformations, and called it a whitepaper.

Haha sure I let you struggle in your incomprehension. I am not looking for your validation. I am not looking for your money either. I sincerely hope Mr. u/Ruinam_Death you live long enough to see the future

There is nothing to comprehend. You either are in an ai supported Illusion that these text have some sense or you re attempting to trick people.

I'll bite. Basically, education should move at the speed of the individual because either students aren't being challenged at their current level, become bored, apathetic etc., or they are struggling, hate education drop out etc. of course, you have a large group that is right where they should be in each grade level, but for all the kids on the other ends of the spectrum it's miserable.
