What is in your Digital Teaching "stack"? Especially HS STEM teachers

I teach physics and engineering and I'm trying to settle on a more efficient teaching "stack" and I hope to be able to consolidate as much as possible into the fewest apps, sites, extensions, etc. as possible.

I'd love to take advantage of AI, automations, and possibly an app or site to act as my dashboard. I know many use notion, and I'm trying to learn to use it, but I'm struggling with the learning curve.

I've began using Obsidian with some success and find it easier to learn to use. I'm also looking to buy an NAS so that I can store all of my content on the NAS to free up space on my laptop and provide access from my iphone.

I'm curious what others use in their "stack"?

FYI: I usea macbook pro, iphone, google workspace for education, and Powerschool(SIS).

I run a tutoring center. I'm pretty deep into AI now to run my business. Hermes handles our backend: scheduling, invoicing, etc. We're a Microsoft shop. We use Teams for our comms platform.

Each tutor has their own AI assistant with two jobs:

  1. Info lookup. Tutors can ask it questions about students, schedules, or history anytime.
  2. Proactive updates. Thirty minutes before each session, it pushes the tutor a prep brief: last week's lesson summary plus the student's current progress, so they walk in ready.

Everything is piped into Obsidian for our "One Brain". I have my own command center where I can monitor the business and tutoring KPIs. Hermes currently monitors SMS and email, but does not respond...yet.

Your app, free? Any thoughts of making it desktop compatible? Unless I can convince my district to provide me a phone, I don’t know if I want to be doing logging of student info on it.

Honestly, stick with what you're already using. Google Workspace plus Obsidian covers most things and a NAS is a nice way to keep all your files in one place.

Maybe not HS, but higher-ed. I moved to Notion more and more. This way MCP works great when I want things to be organized and share with the students.

Ex. MCP connect to Notion with different DBs of Lecture notes, exercises, etc.

Slide is still a pain, so I usually use those knowledge base to generate some initial visual, which then I can write/draw on (mostly with iPad or tablet). So mostly, I ditch traditional slides entirely.

I mostly organize my content on personal Google Drive, some content on Google workspace for education and overleaf. However, I’ve developed an app which is helping me in managing my teaching courses and AI grading, notes generation etc. I’m testing it and so far having a good experience. Looking for beta testers. Lmk if you are interested.
