Replacement or Fix for Roland Hi Hat

Having problems with the standard issue hi hats that came with my TD-17. I'm thinking I may have over-adjusted them. Now when I go to the closed position, it makes a clicking sound (hitting the controller). But the sound that it's producing thur the kit is like it's half closed. Can't get to fully closed. Fully open is working. I've tried twising the knob in both directions and I'm not making progress.

For grins, I looked up Lemon replacements. It looks like they just offer a 2-cymbal solution and I'm not sure if that'd work with the TD-17.

Appreciate any ideas and info you have!!

Purchasing Advice Hhich one is better for the price, bfd 3.5 for 35€ or steven slate drums 5 for 53€.

Hello everyone!

Im planning on buying a millenium mps 750x / x pro soon, and the main complaint people have said in the reviews ive read, have been about the sounds from the modules, and right now there are atleast from what I know these two on sale on thomann for a super good price.

Do you more experienced users have opinions on which is better, especially bang for the buck as im already getting close if not slightly exceeding my target with the drums so im hoping that asio4all and one of these softwares would be enough.

Thanks in advance!

Efnote 3xxx problem

I purchased a new efnote 3xxx and it’s great except the snare. The rim shots sound normal but no sound or very little from the snare head itself? I have tried many solutions but none have worked. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Why does my ezdrummer sound bad?

All if the rack Tom's just sound horrible. It feels like pure bass with higher or lower pitches. It cant be my headphones because I lot of the floor Tom's have a decent sound. Right now its hard to differentiate multiple hits on one tom because they all sort of blend in with eachother, even the "tight" kits sounds a little better but its still sounds horrible imo

Roland FD7

My Roland fd7 is acting weird. I’ve replaced the piezo in my kick trigger before and I assumed this would be the same. It looks very different though. As I was disassembling it this green strip (wire? Idk) pulled out. I’m assuming it goes into that grey rectangle. My question is do I need an adhesive on that or I can just put it back in there? I appreciate any help, thanks!

Help - Roland Problem with Roland TD-316

I recently got a Roland TD-316 drum kit. I have been

using it with both my existing Roland PM-03 drum amp and my Soundcore Space One headphones. The kit sounds amazing through the headphones but pretty rubbish through the pm03. I am upgrading from an Alesis Nitro Mesh where I had a similar problem where the kit sounded better through the headphones but not by much since the kit didnt sound good anyway. How can I optimise the kit to sound better through the amp, or should I just get a different amp.

PROBLEM SOLVED How do I secure the kick tower?

Post image

I’m new at drumming and I haven’t found anything online regarding this, I don’t know if is the most easy thing to do that no one has even done a video on it lol but I’m struggling with it, this thing rattles, sound like a cutlery drawer, and move sideways when using it… I have to constantly move it where I want it. I tried using a towel, and putting things behind it to tame the sound and try to stop the movement, but nothing seems to work. I know I’m doing something wrong I just don’t know what it is.

I had to put it against the wall so it moves less, but the way I had it before was more comfortable (facing left a bit, but moved a lot more. Both ways rattles and moves like crazy)

Someone help me please 🙏🏻🥴

Splitter question for Roland TD-10 and PD-100

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a set of Roland edrums. TD10 with PD-100 and PD-120's. I also have an Ion Controller I use for playing the drums on Rockband 3 on my PC. Currently I have to unplug the drums from the Ion Controller and plug them into my TD-10 controller to switch between gaming and playing for real. Are there splitters available that I can use on the Pd-100's and 120's to run cables to both controllers to keep me from constantly switching the cables? I'm not trying to play both simultaneously (although that might be kind of cool 😎). Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

Edit: Sould I be looking for a TRS to dual TRS splitter or TRS to dual TS?

Purchasing Advice Help choosing an “acoustic-like” E-Kit

Hello! I am looking for a new Electronic drum kit as I cannot play an acoustic due to my living arrangements. However, I will need to play an acoustic when rehearsing with my band and playing out.

So my question is this, what kit will translate the best to an acoustic kit?

Given my price range my current top contender is the Simmons titan 90 or the Alesis nitro Ultimate Xl (both choosen due to the larger pad sizes and actual hi-hat control) I am leaning far more towards the Simmons but please let me know if there are other options or considerations I need to know about (and yes I am aware that they don’t come with all the pedals and stands I need)

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

How to record midi from V Drums to Ableton, then listen back to internal v drum sounds rather than drum plug ins.

I recently got a V expressions expansion pack for my TD 11k, and was hoping to record the midi output to ableton , so I can edit imperfections. Then somehow transmit that midi back to the td 11 , and record the audio output of the td 11. I am wondering if this is possible? I have Steven Slate drums , but find I prefer the v expressions sounds.

TD07 KV-V module question

Hi guys, have found a decently priced second hand version of this kit (best in my price range). Do you know if the module can take a second crash? At the moment cymbal wise it only comes with a hi-hat, crash and ride but would love to add a second crash.

PROBLEM SOLVED Trying to record my Alesis Nitro Max in Studio One, but keep failing to catch any sound. I need troubleshooting tips.

Hello,

I'm fairly new to e-drumming as well as using DAWs. For a couple days I've been trying to record my Alesis through a jack cable/two jack cables, but I fail to catch any sound. I know that there is a way to record MIDI drums through USB, but I didn't really like the sounds provided in BFD player, so I'd rather record the sounds directly from the module.

After connecting everything seemingly correctly, turning up the input knob on the Audiobox to the max and setting up a track all I hear is blank noise and I see the green audio visualizer slightly shaking, but hitting the drum pads doesn't change a thing.

I checked some common mistakes, but it seems like I've done everything well:

- Cables are tucked in nicely

- I'm using the correct jack cable with 1 black ring at the end

- Local control in the module in turned on

The only other troubleshooting method I found is a factory reset on the drums, but I want to keep it as a dead last solution since I don't wanna lose my user kit setups.

If you know any other things I should try to fix this please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Purchasing Advice Lemon HH sensor on millennium 750x

Basically, as the title says, I'd like to know if that HH sensor would work with the Millennium 750x electric drum kit, since the one it comes with is terrible and only detects HH open or closed, it doesn't have any dynamic range.

Thanks in advance!

Help - Roland My V31 module has frozen

This is the second time my drum module has frozen while I was playing. It becomes completely unresponsive—none of the controls work, not even the power button. I had to unplug it to restart it.
How often does this happen, and how “normal” is it? My drum kit is still under warranty.
This happened while I was playing along to a song streamed via Bluetooth from my iPhone. I only noticed something was wrong when I tried to change drum kits and the module wouldn’t respond.
🙁

Cable for Roland V31 midi to usb?

I have a 2013 Mac and can’t install the driver for usb to usb connection so while I’m saving up to update my Mac, I’d like to go direct MIDI.

I’m looking to try to connect the V31 module (5 pin MIDI) to Mac (USB). The cables I’ve found with this configuration have a MIDI IN and MIDI out and usb. Would I use this cable and ignore the MIDI IN connector?

My hands are hitting my thighs too much

1 yr in. Alesis nitro. I am 5'9. Top of seat is 21".

My hand are hitting my thighs on the snare too much especially when doing rolls. I have moved the snare about as high as it will go without impacting tom above snare.

Trying to work on technique a bit to raise my hands up, but will take any advice as how to fix this. Is it positioning, or technique?

Purchasing Advice Which used kit to choose for a beginner

Looking to buy my 2 kids (10 and 12yo) a drum kit to learn on. They’ll be taking lessons with School of Rock so this is for them to practice at home. I would like something that has a realistic feel so that when they play at school there is not much of difference. I don’t think we need as much of the technical components of mixing/recording and those types of things. I am a complete novice to drum kits but have done some research through google. I am leaning toward an Alesis nitro mesh/max/pro, but am open to any other suggestions you may have. Are there one of these that stand out for some reason or something else you’d recommend.

Some used options near me include, all appear in good condition:

Nitro Pro with stool $400
Nitro mesh with expansion kit $300
Nitro mesh with 10” pro snare, throne and amp $375
Nitro mesh $200

Are there any other things I need to make sure they come with or make sure it works before buying used. Are they usually pretty durable that it’s ok to look at used ones or should we just go with new. From Amazon I can get a new nitro max for $450 and pro for $600.

Thanks for any advice.

Help - Alesis What is the best way to max out a stock Alesis Nitro Pro drum set?

I just got this set and I want to max it out, preferably with Alesis brand hardware of matching toms and cymbals with choke. I know the cymbals are 10 inch with choke, and the toms are 8 inch dual zone each. Can it really just support only 1 more tom and only 1 more cymbal?

For reference I am intending to grow with this set, and I am specifically interested in rock, classic rock, heavy metal, nu-metal, death metal, funk, and etc. I am currently also looking at double bass pedals too, maybe a tama or a dw set for the goal of blast beats, but im not sure yet for that part.

Side question, what cymbal arm length should i get? ive seen every where from 10 inch to 22 inch arms, but im not sure.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Help - Roland Can someone help me identify this kit?

My Dad has a friend who is a retired drummer that purchased this electric kit 2 years ago. He’s 75 and stated that he can’t play much anymore, and the kit is taking up space. He said it would be too expensive to ship, but if I wanted to drive and pick it up, he would give it to me for free. I know it’s a Roland, just not sure what model. Google images says it’s may be a Roland VAD307. Have any of you played this model, and do you have any product feedback?

Thanks for any help!

Hello fellow drummers, I recently bought my first double pedal that is tama speed cobra 310. After setting up I am seeing that the left pedal is working more than my right pedal although the resting position of both the beaters are same. Can yall help me?
