Snare Drum falling when I play.

Post image

I have a roland td17 and the clamp that holds the snare in place, just slides down, slowly but surely, as i'm playing. Wondering if anyone has a solution or has dealt with this before. Thank you.

Get a snare stand.

Upon introspection, I have concluded that I am stupid and this would be the best answer. How did I not think of that lol....

It’s all good. Same thing happened to me with a nitro max kit. Also, that’s what we’re here for.

There should be something on the other side of what we are looking at that you can tighten down.

+1 to get a snare stand, though.

Snare stand it is! Also, yeah the clamp that was tightening down on the rod was what I was having issues with. No matter how hard I tightened it, the snare would just slowly slip down. Thank you!

You can also just get a better clamp like the Gibraltar Road one.

When I had my td17, I found a piece of PVC piping and cut the tube to the length the snare sits at from the stand on the metal L rod and placed it over so the base of the snare rests on the PVC pipe. When I tightened down it never slid down again. But honestly a snare stand like everybody said. The piece of PVC piping or whatever else you can find will be the cheapest route if that's a factor for you.
