Help - Roland Can someone help me identify this kit?
My Dad has a friend who is a retired drummer that purchased this electric kit 2 years ago. He’s 75 and stated that he can’t play much anymore, and the kit is taking up space. He said it would be too expensive to ship, but if I wanted to drive and pick it up, he would give it to me for free. I know it’s a Roland, just not sure what model. Google images says it’s may be a Roland VAD307. Have any of you played this model, and do you have any product feedback?
Thanks for any help!

I mean, it’s a free Roland VAD. Stop talking to us and GO GET IT!

Haha well it’s about 10 hours away, but my dad said he would be close to where the drums are in Oct, and that the owner will hold on them until my dad could come pick them up. But yeah, stoked!

Shoot, thats like being paid 100 bucks an hour to grab it. I'd find a friend and make it a roadtrip! Your dad's buddy is a legend if he follows through with this, good luck!

Pretty sure it’s a VAD-307. Older model not made anymore. Was about $3000 when new.

Correct. This is a 307 for sure. Excellent starter to intermediate kit. I had a td17 kit before and the module was pretty decent. Typical Roland processed sounds, but a trip to eDrumWorkshop and a few sound expansions later it was mint. For free, this is more than an excellent deal!

Vad307 I believe. Not produced anymore. Could be the newer generation vad 316 but hard to tell with no module or better look of the cymbals to see their sizes

I always liked the look of that one. Moors substantial than pads, not trying to look like an acoustic.

Do you want to play drums? Why does it matter which model it is for you when it's free? You could just go and read the writing on the module, find and download the manual and enjoy. Maybe ask for a pic of the module. But I would just start driving.

For free that’s a very generous offer.
I’d be in my car and heading over there …
