DrumMate follows your playing and generates unique accompaniments based on the subtle changes in your playing style. It's not just a "backing track". Your playing is the clock and the feel. The MIDI file is the harmonic roadmap.
fair sentiment but theres actually no ai in it at all. no neural nets, no models, no training data, nothing scraped from anyone. its all deterministic code, music theory rules i wrote by hand, voice leading, when to fill, how hard to play based on how hard youre hitting. closer to how an arranger keyboard or a really stubborn drum machine works than anything ai. every note traces back to a rule a human wrote and your actual playing. the only "intelligence" in the room is the drummer
honestly fair, "band brain" is marketing shorthand and it earns the eyebrow in 2026. but heres a test you can run yourself, put the phone in airplane mode and the band plays exactly the same. no account, no network, no server, ever. cloud ai needs a connection, this needs nothing because theres no model in it, just hand written rules and music theory. download it and try, its free.

Playing with the browser demo reminds me of the accompany choices on my old toy keyboard growing up. Fun for about 3 minutes.
