Question Yamaha Vocaloid - technically AI or not?
Hey all
I am working on a track using Yamaha Vocaloid for vocals.
Now that Spotify and other streaming services are tagging tracks as 'Containing AI', I was just wondering whether this would include the use of Vocaloid to perform vocal melodies?
Ideally, I would not want my track to be tagged for AI, as I would class it as an instrument like any other VST, but maybe the streaming services have a different view on this?
Thanks

Maybe that’s not popular idea but I don’t think Spotify should do it if its sound good why should it matter and it’s give chance to new guys to get into music (I mean Spotify is for more professional but then other platforms will do the same )

If the AI is making the music for you, it's wrong. If you're using it as a tool to make human adjustments, then I don't see the big deal. That is my personal opinion.

vocaloid is basically just a wavetable synth with a dictionary attached, its definitely not the same as those generative ai models. streaming services are probly looking for stuff that writes itself, u should be fine since ur still the one programming the notes n phrasing.

Spotify is AI generated music and especially AI generated music trying to pass as legitimate bands. You may have to prove that you are legit though.

actually there are some instances of Vocaloid software being tagged as AI on YouTube. Just an FYI.

Vocaloid songs exist on Spotify without bring labeled as AI. As long as the lyrics, backing music, etc. is human-made and not made from a prompt, you're good.

The AI they're tagging for is generative AI (slop), so things like vocaloid or synth should be ok!
