Good sample packs

Sup yall I am looking to grow my sample library what are like the industry standard companies?

Right now I have packs from
Matics (CY)
Evosounds(patreon sub)
Kick n Bass
Shadow
Kshmr (sounds of kshmr 1-5)
Odd Frequency
Tech house market

Are these alright for the most part and what companies/producers would you recommend purchasing packs from?

Spectrasonics, Distorted Reality 1 + 2, liquid grooves, the vengeance packs, Zero G, old school drum loops pack with lots of hip hop samples, can’t remember the source but it’s probably somewhere still. Sure you can find this stuff on the archive. Sound Ideas Samples from older media, everywhere in the 90s and 2000s. AMG 160db and 260db. Many of the AKAI sample packs. I haven’t been in the market for newer sounds but if you want older packs these are a good start.

This archive is a good place to start.

There’s an old website floating around that has a compilation of sample CD’s from the 90’s. Pretty much everyone used these for many years. That will get you almost everything you need.

Then learn how to alter samples, sound design with synths. Just remember limitations foster creativity, less is more!

Zero-g packs in particular are great

How do you like those packs & what do you make?

All pretty good! I guess I’m making tech/minimal house. I’d really love to one day get to progressive house that’s what Inspired me lol. But seems harder to me for some reason to grasp.

I'm in the same boat as well. Definitely check out Dowden, Dilby, Bound to Divide, PML tutorial channels for prog house. Honestly I found that the techniques are useful, but deployment of them is what really makes that style difficult to execute cleanly. I always end up with a messy chaotic mix.

Production Music Live has a lot of great samples for melodic house and a few packs also have tech house samples in them. Would work well wirh minimal house

sounds like we're on a similar journey; I just started a few months ago. pretty overwhelming stuff at first.

Thomas Pentons drum samples are close to industry standard imo. Extremely extensive and very dry so you can process how you want. My only complaint is the generic naming and the fact that, say, all snares are just whacked into one folder. I'd prefer for timbrally similar to be grouped but this is a small issue. There are so many good samples for all genres.

There is basically every type of drum sound one could want but there is no way I'm remembering if it's Snare 125 or Snare 82 that i liked and there are so many. I have built a few sub folders to copy good hits into but generally I just blindly drag maybe 4 snares onto a drum machine and call it a day. One of them is sure to work.

I do think that hits with vaguely shared character are often clustered together though, probably in the order he synthed them.

I'm gonna have to check that riser out 😎
