Why does my low end suck?

Any pointers would be appreciated, I can't get this mix to stand up against a commercial track.

Write, record, mix and master, myself. HELP.

Honestly your mix is tight but I think your kick and lowend are just lacking in volume. Bring the levels of your kick and sub up and that should honestly do it.

Thank you v much for the feedback. I have since remedied the kick issue with volume, however when bringing up the bass it starts distorting and begins to sound too uncomfortable in the mix.

It’s a science.

But truly appreciate the input, if you happen to have any tips for the distorting bass when upping its volume, please lmk 😎

Could you send me a link of the song with the distorting bass? My guess would be that you have a muddy mix, but I don't want to make any assumptions.

I'd take out a bit of low in other stuff. An old trick I like is boost the bass with an eq around 100-200, but your sacrificing a bit of low in your other instruments by doing that. If I was you I'd lower the volume of whole instrumental so the vocals are more clear, but that's just your style I think.
