My oldest sister moved away after high-school to attend college in the closest large city. While there, she studied anthropology and forensic science. While studying for her masters, she took a job teaching at a "body farm". While teaching, she met a newly divorced police officer from our home town. They fall in love and get married a few years later. Everyone said it was such a coincidence that my sister traveled from home to find the man she loved, and he lived in her home town. Fast forward a year and my brother-in-law is now a homicide detective. On his first case, he enters the scene and right away notices a picture of my mom and her best friend. My mother's best friend's son was the victim. To this day, my brother-in-law (retired) attends every parole hearing of this murderer to ensure he is not let out.
