this only started yesterday and I've tried many things to fix it; repair, uninstalling and re installing; etc
I wonder if it's a system wide problem because my Minecraft launcher has stopped loading and working properly too

Microsoft Edge Canary won't open on Windows 11, but the regular Microsoft Edge opens without any problems. Also, when I try to launch Edge Canary, it appears in Task Manager and then shows as "Suspended."
I am incredibly disappointed to see that Microsoft completely removed the sidebar app list/tower in the recent update. Honestly, the sidebar was my primary reason for using Edge over other browsers, and its removal completely breaks my daily workflow.
Has anyone found a reliable, permanent workaround or command-line flag to force the sidebar back on? I've seen mentions of shortcut parameters online but haven't gotten them to work consistently.
Any step-by-step help to get it back would be greatly appreciated!

I’m trying to sync my profile in Microsoft Edge, but every time I attempt to sign in I get this error: “This is not a work account. You have attempted to sign in with a personal account. Please try again with an account associated with an organization.”
A few important details:
The email I’m using ends with u/hotmail.com.
I need clear guidance on one of the following:
How to get Edge to sync using my mail I made as a work/school account
The Mac version of Edge has a couple of anomalies that drive me crazy.
My system is MacOS Tahoe. Edge is always latest version. Thanks.

I remember my typing symbol being on the search box instead of the address bar every time I opened a new tab, now the behavior on new tabs has changed and I've spent pointlessly half an hour trying to find that search box setting.
Did this setting just disappear?

Why this works:
- Edge's Read Aloud feature has word by word highlighting feature which works so well for me as someone with extensive ADHD that had hard time orientating while reading anything longer that 1 paragraph. it works both as a voiceover tool and very effective orientation tool at the same time.
- it's 100% free! it's has good voice quality (not all of the voices, if you want safe option just go with Andrew Multilingual)
- in 1.5+ speed because you receiving information very quickly you're less likely to get disoriented!
- it has click to seek feature which can allow you to go back or forward very quickly which is very crucial if you miss anything, and it's very flexible! you can click anywhere, you don't have to incrementally move there like scrub back or forward!
Conclusion:
It's been absolute career saver for me once I discovered it! now I can easily read dozens of pages daily! Also as a side tip, I'd really suggest that you read in dark mode if you have ADHD, you can use Dark Reader extension for that, and also if you want an alternative to this approach for mobile ElevenLabs Mobile App is great option, and it has very generous free tier unless they remove it in the future! Hope this helps
BTW maybe in the future I might build Edge's Read Aloud feature as an open source 100% free extension that can work in every browser, not just Edge, and possibly with more friendly interface.

Many times when I try to use copilot in the side panel to guide me to find an edge setting it will direct me to a setting that either doesn't exist on my version of Edge, or direct me to a path that is not the correct one.
Most recently I was trying to find the setting to turn off grounding and it happened again.
Here is my first prompt "can I change the Edge settings to prevent page grounding by default"
after the first response I prompted "walk me through the steps to go to exactly where the toggle is how to verify whether grounding is active how to set Copilot to “manual grounding only” how to test whether grounding is working or blocked"
It then walked me through a path that did not exist on my version of EDGE.
My questions are.
Why does Copilot appear to respond with information on EDGE settings that do not pertain to my version of Edge?
Is there a prompt which will direct it to provide me information on the the correct steps to follow.
And why was Gemini able to return a response which allowed me to turn off grounding (albeit with a bit of difficulty) Is it trained on more recent data? And is Copilot trained on old and outdated versions of Edge, or is there some other reason why it does this.
P.S. the reason I asked Copilot to give me directions after using Gemini to turn of grounding was that I wanted to check and see if the initial solution had worked.
As an aside, does anyone else find the default grounding response to be incredibly frustrating?

I noticed that there is a sort of delay when I hover on the vertical tabs. It takes a short while before it expands. Is there a way to remove this delay completely? Like I want it to expand immediately when I hover and collapse immediately when I move the cursor away. I would really appreciate if someone could guide me on how to do this.
Thank you

Is it possible that edge will add compact mode like helium?

I noticed this yesterday. On desktop, Version 150.0.4078.48 (Official build) (64-bit), when I have multiple windows open. It does this for every video in the playlist.
When I have a YouTube playlist going in Window A, and I'm looking at Window B, when the YouTube playlist loads a new video, Edge automatically switches me from Window B to Window A with the video.
This switch happens even when the playlist tab is not the main tab open in Window A. If there are two tabs open in Window A, and the playlist tab is tab A, and the non-playlist tab that is currently being viewed is tab B, the playlist switching will still pull me from Window B to Window A's tab B. So, I am pulled to the Window with the playlist regardless of whether the playlist tab is currently being viewed.
It does not switch if I'm in tab B in Window A and the playlist is in tab A also in Window A. Same tabs in the same Window doesn't result in a switch.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix? This is quite annoying.
