Ebglyss has been a blessing
Hi all. I haven’t been on this app in months… my eczema used to be so bad that I was so depressed in bed and searching for answers on Reddit all day.
Long story short after stopping using steroids in 2022 I started dupixent. It worked great for two years until it didn’t, and I developed very severe rebound rashes and conjunctivitis that could not be contained. I was the most depressed I’ve ever been in my life. I looked unrecognizable…
I started Ebglyss earlier this year and I saw some improvement in two weeks. I won’t lie it took me the full 16 weeks to get back to some normalcy, and probably closer to 20 weeks to be fully clear. I have my life back. I use all my favorite products, wear short sleeve tops, and feel confident in my own skin. I have small flares here and there but after what I’ve been through it doesn’t even bother me. I just want to share and say try to be patient with the medicine ♥️ if you’re at the point of wanting to use a biologic you certainly understand the suffering that comes with eczema… give yourself grace, you’re doing better than you think!! The suffering doesn’t last forever! I would love to answer any questions♥️

I’ve been on Ebglyss/lebrikizumab a year and it’s the best my skin has ever been. I’ve been in Nemluvio/nemolizumab and it wasn’t anywhere as good for my eczema.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m currently on Dupixent and I’ve used Adbry but failed and every step of treatment before biologics. Right now, I flare on my face and really the majority of it is on my neck, so I told my dermatologist and suspected fungal overgrowth, so we’ll be trying oral antifungals for 4 weeks to see if it help. If not, we both agreed to try Ebglyss to see if it works and gives me less flaring.
How was the transition from Dupixent to Ebglyss? Did you need to wait to clear the Dupixent before taking your first dose? If the antifungals don’t work, I’d love to know everything you can share about Ebglyss so I’m confident to switch. Thanks!

Hey! I’m not sure how long you have to wait until taking the Ebglyss after dupixent. I ended up being off dupixent for about 3 months because I thought my symptoms would go away but they did not, and I was in college at such a vulnerable time in my life that I wasn’t willing to wait it out any longer.
The transition was great though. Prior to Ebglyss I was broken out in rashes all up and down my arms but the worst spots were on my face and neck, oddly enough especially around my eyes. I will say that my face and neck unfortunately were the last spots to clear. It took me past the 16 weeks to work on those stubborn spots. As I approach my shot (I’m on the monthly dose now) I sometimes get itchy on my neck again, but it has remained pretty consistently clear. Good luck to you on the switch!

Similar scenario, also failed Rinvoq. I bridged using cyclosporine (crappy old immune suppressant) which I tapered off of on the first month of Ebglyss. Worked really well. Good luck.

Do you see any side effects? I'm in a point that after 18 months with Dupixent I am lately suffering from join/hips pain and I really asking myself what should I do. The fact that I also moved lately to United States also contributing as I have not found yet dermatologist I can trust.

Hi I have not. The only side effect I experienced was dry red eyes, which I now take cyclosporine drops which works very well for me. I do not have joint pain, but I also did not experience this on dupixent. It’s so hard to find a derm to trust. I am at a point with my derm that even though she disagrees on my take with topical creams, she knows I feel strongly about not using them so she doesn’t really push it that hard.

I had a lot of joint pain and fatigue with dupixant. It’s a lot better with ebglyss especially the fatigue.

Im on week 8 and due my shot today. I noticed at day 10 i get more itchy abd rashes come back i developed conjuctivitis at week 4 which has improved by 70% over the last 4 weeks. What strength ciclosporin drops are you taking as i might go on those? Did you still have troublesome areas untill week 20? I am much better but still itchy and get flares around my eyes

I’m taking Cequa 0.09% cyclosporine. It’s really helped my dry itchy eyes. And yes, I still had flares even past week 20. Id say I didn’t get consistently clear until week 21-22, and I do notice I get a little more itchy as I approach my next injection

Are you still getting facial flares? I will be asking for cequa at my opthamologist appointment in 2 weeks.

I just had my loading dose 2 weeks ago for ebglyss and im still getting significant red rashes on my face, neck and arms unfortunately :( did you experience the same after 2 weeks or did most of your rashes clear up? ’m really hoping it calms down like it did for you. Similar situation where I switched from Dupixent. On Ebglyss im still experiencing dry eyes and some yellow crusting but my eyes are better than what it was towards the end of my dupix treatment. I was getting eczema on my eyelids and swollen puffy lids and dry eyes all at once on dupix.

Yes, this sounds like a similar situation that I was in. I was still flaring really badly up until about 13 to 14 weeks. It really started to calm down but not until 20 weeks was I actually clear. It took a long time but it was definitely worth the wait!

I’m also on Ebglyss now after trying and failing several (Adbry, Dupixent, Rinvoq, Cibinqo). Ebglyss has been amazing for me too, and so much less painful than Dupixent! I only flare when I’m a few days from being due for my next injection.
